Dave C (au) wrote: Get your tearducts ready! An understated film that shows Yamada's skill; a tearjerker that manages not to wallow in sentimentality as it follows a mother struggling with bringing up her two children during WWII.

Johnson, Jerry Gardner, Daniel Patrick Moriarty Director: E. Elias Merhige Summary: A killer is on the loose, and FBI agent Thomas Mackelway is on the case, sifting through clues to uncover the criminal's identity. But there's one unusual twist: The bloodthirsty felon's victims of choice are other serial killers. My Thoughts: "Although it was a new take on serial killing and one I thought was very interesting, the film just wasn't great. Far from it. There is no thrill in this thriller and it needed it. The casting is great, its the writing and directing that leaves something to be wanted. The idea of the film is unique but unfortunately it wasn't executed as well as it could and should have been. A miss that could have been a hit."

It was pretty entertaining with a lot of really lame jokes along with some really disgusting gore. It's one of those movies that's so absolutely horrendous that it comes off as entertaining.

Abel D (au) wrote: Toothless and mostly laugh-less, this post-Brian biblical comedy amounts to a bunch of lazy sketches with a thin thread. An all star cast of comics is wasted in bit roles, and it has nothing of consequence to say about the bible or faith despite the premise of an alternate Moses.
Steve S (fr) wrote: *** (out of four) The second filmed version of the celebrated true crime book by Vincent Bugliosi. It lacks the authentic feel of the first and feels quite stagey, but it features a good performance from Jeremy Davies and should interest those who are interested in the story of one of the biggest and most disturbing true life horror stories. Davies plays Charles Manson, the evil genius who mesmerized dozens of young hippies. When his dreams of being in the music business failed and he was turned away by the likes of Terry Melcher and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, Manson convinced some of his followers to brutally murder those who were living in Melcher's former house. He hoped to spark a race war where he would eventually be the king. I do recommend reading the book, since the film skips over a lot of important facts, but if you simply want to see a quick overview, this will do.
