(ag) wrote: Wow! If you thought the American remake of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's J-horror masterpiece was crap, then you haven't seen anything yet. This sequel to the remake attempts to imagine the post-apocalyptic world after the first film. Unfortunately, every aspect of this film is terrible from the story to the acting to the effects. In fact the movie looks especially horrible because it didn't use actors on real sets but instead inserted actors into background photographs, which makes the entire film feel fake. So awful, it is not even worth watching for even the most forgiving fans of b-horror.

(jp) wrote: Hilariously bad but bad in a good way. I really enjoyed it. I liked it a little better than Psycho Cop Returns mainly because a bunch of young dumbasses get maimed. I didn't care about any of the characters except for Joe Vickers, of course. They were all the same person to me. Watch out for Zack the trickster & his rock hard abs. Joe's one-liners were delivered with that Bobby Ray charm. I laughed. I also laughed every time he did his "Ha ha ha ho ho ho" laugh. I like how every other sentence is a mention of the Kato Kaelin caretaker, who took an axe to the head early in the film. It lacked gore. I actually think the horribly edited version of Psycho Cop Returns had more gore in it. Still, this movie was gold in the form of a wheel of cheese. I loved Joe's Bennettesque "death" at the hands of Dougie, who must've been a javelin throwing champion to make a tree branch go through Joe's chest."Have a heart."

(kr) wrote: Two things I miss in this fight movie: the actual training for the fights and any sense of real happiness. Maybe that's the characters' make-up but it produces a movie very much on an even keel emotionally. It's probably the director's constrained attempt to give everything an almost documentary feel of realism. This sucks the blood out of the core of the story. Of course, brilliant acting and camerawork.
(mx) wrote: Not what I expected. Its a very sad love story with lotsa lotsa sex thrown in. Reminded me of BETTY BLUE. And Rutger is too gorgeoussss. A must see for all RHauer fans.
