Guilherme B (nl) wrote: Um thriller psicolgico excelente como h tempos no via. Tirei o chapu pro Idris Elba e pro Eamonn Walker, que to incrveis. Idris Elba alm de interpretar Malcolm, assina tambm o filme como produtor executivo, uma aposta ousada em um filme minimalista e violento. Vale a pena.

Brenna G (fr) wrote: An Education is a movie about a 16 year old girl, Jenny (Carey Mulligan), who is working really hard trying to balance cello practices and keeping her grades as high as possible so she can get into her dream college, Oxford. One day Jenny is walking home from cello practice and is stopped by a man in his 30s, David (Peter Sarsgaard), who offers to get her out of the rain and drive her home. Director, Lone Scherfig, does a great job of incorporating all of the little things we know about Jenny and creating it into an extravagant love story where David gives her everything she has ever wanted. As the film progresses Jenny starts to steer in the wrong direction; she drops out of high school and is spending all of her time with David. I enjoyed watching how Jenny had her whole life together and planned out completely, to watching it go downhill at a very fast pace, and then finally watch her take charge of her life, get back into high school, and most importantly finish what she started. I gave this film a 4 out of 5 stars because I really liked seeing Jenny get her life back together at the end, but was a bit shocked that she was only 16 years old and was dating a 30-ish year old man.

Chen Y (de) wrote: great documentary about the lives of those who were affected by the opening of china's three gorges dam on the yangtze river, one of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the world and one of china's biggest public projects ever. the film focuses mainly on the story of one young girl whose family lives in a shack along the banks of the river, trying to make ends meet, and her journey to find work on the riverboat cruises along the river in order to help provide for her family. in addition to her compelling story, the filmmaker also tries to capture the haunting beauty of the river before the landscape dramatically changes with the opening of the dam. with the dam completion the water level rises dramatically, burying in the waters thousands of years of civilization and history as well as natural scenery. the film brought to light some important issues regarding the dam without taking too strong of a stance or choosing definitive sides. good watch for anyone interested in china.

SUGARFALL S (br) wrote: I've seen this movie almost more than any other movie. When I was a young teenager I walked miles a dozen times to see this movie a dozen times and it wasn't because of the nudity it was because of the fantastic romance and fantastic soundtrack which I own still today (vinyl) and love to listen to. This movie is funny, fun, clever, original and the cast just fit perfectly, even if Heather Thomas tried her damndest afterwards to live it down and never really did. She used a body double people! Nevertheless there's something teen-perfect about this movie and I recommend you watch it allowing yourself to forget and release any yea after the age of 15 or so that you might really love it!
