In this final chapter a college professor discovers that she's an alien hybrid and goes to Mexico with her creator in search of a cure that will repress her alien genes. Helena Mattsson does a decent job and has some charisma, but overall the acting is rather bad. However, the special effects are much improved over the last film. But the plot is horrible, and doesn't make much sense. Another pathetic entry into the franchise, Species: The Awakening is a pointless horror film.

Bob V (kr) wrote: Adaptation of Jean Renoir's "Boudu saved from drowning", this film sets the story in Beverly Hills (in case the title hadn't made that clear) and takes the vapid, self-important lives of a rich family under its loop. A massive success upon its release, this film together with Ruthless People revitalized the career of Bette Midler, who had pretty much been persona non grata in Hollywood ever since Jinxed, four years earlier, had blackened her reputation both as a box-office draw, and as a likeable person to work with. While the film has aged badly, - and its depiction of the rich excesses which are meant to ruffle us, seem commonplace or even tame now - it still has its shining moments and the superb performances make it an enjoyable watch.
