Adrian E (it) wrote: The CG snakes may have been less detailed than the latest video games graphic technology, but the movie was entertaining in a campy sort of way.

Dave H (gb) wrote: Dick Donner has directed some of my favourite escapist films (The Goonies, Superman 1&2, the first 2 Lethal Weapons) but he's not exactly known for his subtlety or his flair for drama, and thus Radio Flyer - despite a good story and nice perfs - feels a little clumsy at times. I loved - and related to - lots of the moments of the kids escaping domestic tension by exploring the rougher edges of suburbia with their pooch. And any movie where Tom Hanks and Elijah Wood play the same character can't be all bad. Yet...the fantasy ending doesn't mesh well with the grimy child abuse that's has come before - and if therefore if the ending is a metaphor of escape through suicide...well that's pretty damn screwed up. I prefer to believe one of the theories I just read on wiki - that Bobby wasn't truly real, just someone that Mikey created in his mind to detach himself from the abuse - but if this was the case, couldn't this have been clarified a touch more? Maybe Donner's due for yet another sequel...

Justin A (kr) wrote: Like most of John Carpenter's movies, I really enjoyed it. This is actually the most "John Carpenter-y" movie out of all his movies because it seemed to have influences from every movie he had made prior. There are returning actors from Halloween and Big Trouble in Little Trouble. It has the isolation kind of feel like The Fog and The Thing (which also seemed to have a "let's put science behind this" kind of influence). You can even see bits of Assault on Precinct 13 and Starman in this movie. It may not be his best movie (which is usually reserved for Halloween or The Thing), but this is still a must-see John Carpenter movie. There are some good scares and creepy moments (the bugs for one). The soundtrack also has that familiar John Carpenter vibe to it. This is kind of the forgotten John Carpenter movie, but it's still very entertaining and well worth checking out.

Thomas B (ag) wrote: *****One of my all time personal favourites, 'Shaun of the Dead' is how you do good comedy. With ecstatic direction from Edgar Wright, and two amazing leads in the form of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, this hilarious movie is one of the best comedies ever put to film.

Kara F (us) wrote: After seeing this movie only once I can see why I got it for the meager price of $2.50. Although it has some good moments (the "hair gel" scene), it's certainly a movie that I cannot for the life of me remember.

Shantel D (mx) wrote: Kinda funny, I'll probably watch it again. Rainn Wilson and Elijah Wood are quite entertaining in this!
