Patrick L (ru) wrote: After reading the reviews for this movie, my faith in humanity has become significantly weakened. Yes, this movie is full of crude humor and the tone is not necessarily something I would watch with my parents, but it's also a very heartfelt, character-based situational comedy that is quite clever and even downright touching at times. By the way, it is an R-Rated Comedy. For adults. Adults who actually speak like adults, not like the way people talk on network television.James Franco's character comes off as abrasive at first, but his demeanor (and that contagious grin) win you over - he's not written to be, as a matter of fact his Laird is a refreshing change of pace from the typical douchey-asshole boyfriend cliches that movies like this generally require. He comes off as a genuinely good guy who has no idea how to communicate in a comfortable dynamic with a more traditional person. Bryan Cranston was impeccably cast, and those two leads were enough to justify giving this movie a chance for me - but then the icing on the cake of the immensely talented and hella underrated Megan Mullaly guaranteed this was worth my time. And I don't regret a minute

Grant H (fr) wrote: Great movie. Khalfoun and Alexandre show incredible skill in setting up a fun cat-and-mouse thriller that we've seen many times before. It follows the usual formula, but it does so with suspense, style, and great performances from its leads, Nichols and Bentley. For a good, old-fashioned "independent woman vs psycho loner," check this out.

This is coming-of-age film, a young Lebanese girl who falls prey to man living next-door. It's moderately dark in its plot layout. A sad story and at the same time educating.

Sebastian G (ag) wrote: As a horror-movie fan I've been taught that Uwe Boll is equal to the devil in terms of evil and corruption of the soul. That is just not the case, and Heart of America is an exceptional film about teens involved in a school shooting. It really builds slowly and deliberately, making you really get into the heads of our 'protagonists'. The direction is very effective and deliberately showcasing the moral dilemma not just of the depressed teens who have long lost the will to recover, but also the conflict of being a bully. It's quite a deep and intrigueing film, the only thing that was slightly too quick, surprising for a film with such a great slow deliberate cumulation of tension and anger, was the ultimate resolution which started very well, and then kind of 'rushed' into the death. But it was very much true to what you'd expect of a real tragedy of this scale. A very good film, and Uwe Boll shows himself a very capable film-maker.

Also a cameo by Amarillo Slim who he himself made his name by playing in high stakes backroom games before poker became a more acceptable endeavor. The movie is about 2 degenerate gamblers and their gambling adventures. Booze, broads, and gambling what more is there in life? Well for these guys they were pretty much concentrated on the booze and gambling. Really enjoyed the scenes in the old casinos....kinda reminded me of being in Bills in Las Vegas. At first I didnt like the ending but after reflecting on it for a bit it made complete sense of really the only two outcomes for degenerates like these two. I could definitely see myself hanging out with these two guys and having a hell of a good time. Definitely would watch this movie again as it was as good of a movie about gambling as I've seen (Rounders, A Big Hand for the Little Lady, Cinncinnati Kid, etc)
