(us) wrote: I guess if a movie makes one think for a few days, it must be counted as extremely good in this time and age. Lootera does this despite the second half reliance on the well-known, over-sentimental O'Henry fable. In almost all other movies the lazy pace would have appeared an indulgence. But starting from the backdrop to the casting, acting, music are all a perfection. Artful. A masterpiece.
(us) wrote: A sickening romp into the realm of the unexplainable exploitative film. Keeps the camp to a minimum, only exploring originality in brief glimmers. What else can I say? I was a willing member of what soon gave me reason to rethink the idea of "captive audience."

(de) wrote: Yes: this is a low-achieving action thriller that traffics in the usual clichs of assassins and failed body guards. But, within its limits, BODY ARMOUR succeeds. It's practical, workman-like, albeit vague storytelling zips along. Til Schweiger is the anti-hero, a body guard whose client died on his watch. Schweiger plays his role in strangely muted fashion, as if he is feeling his way through the possibilities of a lead role for the first time. Yet Schweiger has an authenticity and gentleness that makes his brand of macho discontent fascinating. Chazz Palminteri and other well-worn character actors ham it up as villains. Oh, it's all in fun and everyone seems to understand this. A trifle. Nothing more, nothing less.

(ag) wrote: I had never heard of this film but it was recommended to me by my on-line DVD service based on what I rented, so I thought I'd give it a go. And I am glad I did.Following one day in the life of a number of people in New York, Diana and her daughter Isabel in particular [everyone else is linked to them], while the plot is nothing too unusual, the performances by all are simply so superb and heartfelt [showing forth and recalling the passion Diana demanded of her acting class at the beginning], that I was hooked. By the end, I had been taken on a most exciting adventure, and was sad to see that it ended -- I could've kept watching. But then there is something to be said to leaving the future to the imagination.

(ca) wrote: Live and Let Die still has a weaker plot and not that memorable characters, but Roger Moore is solid in the role and the movie is such a big improvement over its last couple of predecessors thanks to a good use of great locations, some very memorable sequences, well executed action scenes and it is overall an entertaining and engaging flick.
