Jesse O (ca) wrote: This movie was certainly meant to be light, silly and fun, it's obvious just watching the film, and in a way the movie does fulfill its purpose, but it's still, to me, just an average film at best. The movie focuses on three sisters and their respective love lives and because of that, there really isn't a lot of time to develop each relationship to where it feels fully developed or, really, all that interesting. I think the one that is the highlight is Lily's segment, because at least she had an obstacle that she needed to overcome to achieve real happiness. The other two, I don't really understand what they were trying to achieve. Not that any of it was bad, it's decent at best and it's got an energetic cast but its characters aren't as well developed as they would've been if each sister had their own movie. Not that I think three separate movies would've been any better, I think it would've stretched things out to an unimaginable degree, so perhaps it's for the best that the movie ended up this way. I'm sure its intended audience will certainly enjoy it. And I did too, to a certain point. It ended up being better than a lot of Asian romantic comedies I've seen, since it doesn't become a melodrama at any point, so it gets points for that. But the rest of it is average and stuff you've seen elsewhere, and I can't think of anything that this movie does better than others. It is satisfied with not re-inventing the wheel, and I don't have much of a problem with that even if the film isn't good.

If you live in Boston, odds are you're guzzling Hydropure by the gallon; it's the latest health drink craze, and it's flying off of the shelves. Even the mayor has a taste for Hydropure. But when the mayor is assassinated and the triggerman slips reporter Ben (Bellows) evidence of a Hydropure conspiracy, the race is on to stop our species from being taken over from the inside. Convinced that something ominous is afoot after his colleague offers scientific proof that Hydropure is infecting humans with an alien virus, Ben and fellow reporter Lisa (Maxim Roy) set out on a mission to stop the virus from spreading and save the human race.

Ketura B (mx) wrote: A fantastic sequel to Once were warriors, not as raw as the first but for its own reasons. It still is a tale worthy of telling and still hits hard with reality - a journey of salvation and redemption, revenge and peace...can one man save what is left of his family due to his actions and stop the destruction, stop history from repeating itself and make amends with his estranged son? Watch to find out - well worth it

OK -it;s sitcom/romp at best, but it's fun. If only the tobacco lobby had been excluded from inserting their subliminal (and overt 'cool to smoke' messages - but then again how else would the plot-crucial warehouse fire be started?

Bill T (ca) wrote: Although I may have to get used to Sidney Toler as Charlie Chan (taking over from Warner Oland, who died after completing Charlie Chan in Monte Carlo), the mystery here is pretty good, with Chan trying to figure out who shot someone on board a freighter. Oh, Keye Luke is gone too, but I do like Victor Yung as a suitable replacement as the number 1. son. There seems to be a Bud Abbott impersonator on board too, but let's just forget about that. This isnt the best of the lot, and again. Toler will have to be getting used to, but it's all right.

Heather M (ca) wrote: Zahn was downright creepy in this one. The only bad part about this twist ending is that you can never watch the movie again and enjoy it as thoroughly as the first time because you know what is coming.

Scott M (es) wrote: A fun ride. I enjoyed it. The ferry boat scene was ridiculous and silly, but I can let that slide. Heath Ledger was awesome. Not nearly as complex or deep as people think. But has some great action scenes. Up until this movie I hated most superhero movies, but this one is one of my favorites.
