Richard S (es) wrote: This was a pretty good ghost story that could have been a lot better but there was nothing original here and the characters were quite annoying. The creepiness factor worked well because it is set at night during a snow storm and so you find yourself wondering whether there are shadows in the background or it is just the storm. The characters however just didn't seem to gel together and although overall the film was fairly enjoyable, it wasn't anything that I hadn't seen before.

The creature effects are decent (even if they never for one second convince us we're seeing anything other than a man in a suit), and it's kind of refreshing to see British landmarks destroyed instead of American or Japanese ones, as is often the case when cinematic giant monsters attack.
