Now if they would only find a real cinematographer and get rid of the cutesy The Office stylistics they seem so fond of... Also the acting us mediocre at best.

This is not just a chick flick it is truly touching offset by Bill Nighy's great counter as the cynical rock star. None of the actors falls down and most exceed the mark. After several viewings I still love it and there are few films I can watch twice. It is star packed so one of you favs is probably in it. There are only nine other movies in my top 10 and this one is not close to getting bumped.

However a burned out cop (Christopher Lambert) finds out about a permanent cure for the virus and becomes the target for the creator of 'Absolon' (Ron Perlman). This is a low budget b-movie sci-fi action that you just can't take to seriously. Christopher Lambert's acting is stiff as hell, Ron Perlman is not in it enough to make a real impact and we get teased with some nude shots of Kelly Brook that never happens. Far from a good film, but entertaining enough not to be a total waste of time.

The British POWs, mostly airmen, have been searching for a way to tunnel out of the camp. Their huts are too far from the perimeter for the conventional methods. They hit upon the idea of setting up a wooden vaulting horse in the middle of camp, ostensibly for exercise, but in reality as a starting point for a tunnel...Quite interesting and exciting story. The use of the wooden horse is a bit far-fetched so it helps to suspend disbelief. Is quite an ingenious idea though and the planning, building, scrounging and subterfuge that goes on around it is quite engaging. The best part however is what happens once they're out - very suspenseful. However, The Wooden Horse will always be compared to The Great Escape, and this doesn't help The Wooden Horse. The Great Escape has more action, bigger names, the coolness of Steve McQueen and is based on a true story and has better production values. This all said, The Wooden Horse must claim some, if not all, credit for The Great Escape being made, as it started the POW escape genre and The Great Escape, 13 years later, was the high point of it.

Det r svrt att se den hr och bara sitta och garva, visst det r bitvis kassa effekter och smbizarr lustig intrig men den r obehaglig och cklig. Rekommenderas inte till ngon som gillar "filmer som gr mig till en rikare mnniska inombords".
