Mark James A (ru) wrote: Rating: Zero stars"When The Sense Is Gone is a more fitting title to this picture that tackles a surreal and exploitative view on love, marriage and family. Of all the films involving infidelity that harbored the Philippine cinema, this is the one that's exceptionally horrible, icky and lousy. It is full of moronic characters trapped in a delusional plot. Ugh.

Heather M (it) wrote: This is a completely depressing movie. I was really expecting something that had to do with the birthday celebration instead a movie that used the celebration as the only thing that really connected this family. At the very least this movie could have had a powerful life lesson at the end of all the struggle this family went through, but it didn't and just kept heaping the problems on them and that made no sense.

Art S (mx) wrote: Onward to 1991 in this incredible documentary series. Almost every life depicted conjures up thoughts and produces resonance with one's own. For example, I'm closest to Nick (same job), but find commonalities with Bruce (overseas travel to different culture), Paul (immigrated to Australia), even Neil (good to see he's back from the dead). At 35 (in 2002), I too was ready to settle down (with Ayako), like almost everyone here. Our individual differences may pale in the face of our common humanity. Bring on 42...

Mike V (kr) wrote: In between the scenes of cattle wandering across plains, there is some good drama here in this classic Western of the first cattle drive. But at over 2 hours it is difficult to maintain throughout the film. Considered to be one of the greatest western films of all time. 1001

Benjamin C (jp) wrote: Actually quite enjoyed this. Its totally hammy with a completely cheesy soundtrack, ridiculous plot, totally unscary terrorists and a action cop who is about as hard as camembert. I think it is a bit of a spoof but it may well be serious. If so then its lame.

Justin A (ca) wrote: A fun 50s sci-fi monster movie. It basically was Alien 20 years before Ridley Scott's movie. For a 50s movie, it has some genuinely creepy moments. Of course, that is grading it on a curve. It doesn't quite rise up to the next level like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's worth checking out, but not a necessity. Viewers are more likely to laugh at the b-movie, low budget ridiculousness of it. If only it were made with more modern filmmaking techniques to capitalize on the claustrophobic atmosphere... oh wait, it was... in 1979.
