Frances H (us) wrote: Occasionally when I decide to watch a movie with bad reviews, I'm pleasantly surprised by a delightful film I never would have seen if I had listened to other people's opinions. But this film was not such an experience. The scenes of the California coast were beautiful and the end credits were nice, but otherwise it very mediocre despite Lauren Bacall and Alfred Molina. Oh well, you win some and you lose some and this was a loser.

Isaac C (it) wrote: A few creepy moments can't seem to over shadow the rest of the bad acting, stupid dialogue and waste of a potentially great film. This movie could have been done much better. The saddest thing is there were actually some very well done scenes that really creeped me out. If only ALL of the movie had been done as those few scenes.I will give credit to Robert Hoffman for portraying Bluto in the film. He was fucking hilarious! The cow scene really made this movie forth while.

Joe J (es) wrote: One of the best films of the 2000s, an existential masterpiece. Funny, suspenseful, moving, insightful, critical, profound. The direction is the star of the film: Detached and empathic at the same time, a cool observation of the final days of human life. The film can be read as a critique of Romanian institutions at that time, but it's much more universal: This film is about the fundamental ignorance of institutions to human suffering and the loneliness of the dying.

James R (jp) wrote: I think this is possibly my favourite of all the Pixar shorts; it was the first with dialogue and has a very clear plot about a distressed sheep that unfortunately gets shaved and becomes depressed before being cheered up by a Jackalope. I think the reason I like this film is that the wording is so clever, the rhyme scheme on the songs is downright awesome and everything flows so nicely with the music. It's one thing to animate a good movie, its another to write good narration and this is particularly good. This story feels complete, resolved and very happy. I imagine it makes lots of people smile.

Justin B (jp) wrote: Though not paced as well as I'd hoped, Grabbers is phenomenally fun and clever monster flick. It's so rare that effort is put into this type of film.
