Ryan J (ag) wrote: Prequel to Malevolence shows how the young Martin Bristol was kidnapped and turned into a killer. Bigger budget has more gore but 7 years still has nothing original to add to the genre. The insight to the kidnapper and how his young protege becomes an emotionless killer is good but other than that there's a lot of screaming and some massively awesome boobs from the main actress Daddario. Both films best be watched late on a boring weekend.

Jared G (jp) wrote: As spoofs go, it wasn't awful. Actually, in some ways, it excelled the prequels (kidding). If they had spent more time developing some of the things going on (or even if they tried it seriously) it would have been interesting. There were some things going on that were interesting. I actually laughed in some places. The big criticism was how underdeveloped it was.

Ryan V (br) wrote: Toho, looking to ape the 1930's monster series of Universal, tried to create a stable of kaiju monsters following in the wake of Godzilla's success. Varan was one of the also-rans and it's not tough to see why there wasn't much demand to see this beast become a persistent threat to Tokyo. Unlike Mothra or Rodan, the events of the Varan The Unbelievable don't really accomplish anything that the first Godzilla film didn't do better.

Daniel V (it) wrote: Man, I forgot how entertaining this movie was. Scott Glenn and Kevin Kline are perfect as co-leaders of this rag tag band of boys that also includes Kevin Costner as the charming trouble making younger brother and Danny Glover as one of the best shots with rifle the Hollywood West has ever seen. The story is a straight forward western bad guys taking what they don't deserve, good guys being outnumbered but badass enough to stop them. Oh and did I mention it's directed by Lawrence "Star Wars" Kasdan? So if you are a fan of westerns or any of those 4 actors or the talent of Kasdan's storytelling(I happens to fan of all of it), then you will dig this because it is shows all these elements at their finest.
