Maksim B (ca) wrote: An unnecessary sequel to the 2011 original, Mechanic: Resurrection is a typical Jason Statham action, which unfortunately has run out of fuel. Action-packed and spanning from Australia and Thailand to Brazil and Bulgaria, this second installment offers what a no brainer action which is unable to compensate for the ridiculous plot and terrible performance of some of the actors.Five years after Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) went to retirement, there is someone who is desperately wants to bring him back for one final assignment. Bishop is soon forced to agree in order to save the life of the beautiful ex-military Gina (Jessica Alba), but while assassinating his targets he also needs to plan his and Gina's escape from the potential dead end game. Filled with action sequences, Jason Statham-kicks and an attempt to bring back the freshness which made its star one of the best classic action stars of the last decade, the movie fails to re-produce the success of other Statham deliveries. The main reasons for this are two. First of all the story goes into a narrative loop in which fighting sequences takes place in different parts of the world without offering a plausible story. Secondly, the supporting cast is a disappointment. Jason Statham and Tommy Lee Jones are certainly on a sort of cruise control in this movie and even without any efforts they can deliver what is expected from them. This cannot be said about Jessia Alba, whose dreadful performance is painful to watch. Of course, you are at home, with a beer in your hand and feel as if you want to turn your brain off, Mechanic Resurrection could potentially be an option for you. The mindless action will keep you focused on the screen while your brain will nicely take a break from thinking. Otherwise, you'd better avoid this as it does not offer anything more than a lower-than-average Jason Statham entertainment.

Luke B (ag) wrote: A TV movie that examines plot points long after they are relevant to the actual series. This goes back in time to series 2, and then even further back to the 1st cylon war. The importance of this movie is mostly character based. We also see the difficult decisions that must be made in combat. Many may see Cain as an absolute bitch with no redeeming qualities, but told through the eyes of our new protagonist Jacobsen, we see that war isn't about easy choices. Civilians have to die, orders must be obeyed, and fear and doubt can put everyone at risk. Battlestar Galactica has always been good at balancing its characters and their actions. We have no villains, just differing opinions. The action scenes are exciting, but don't expect to see any major reveals here. It's just a little something extra to understand the world and situations.

Bengel W (fr) wrote: Nothing, like the bloodied slaughter, of NYC Police to ensure that the movie will be thrilling and emotional and worth the time to watch and enjoy. Strong feelings are part of the characterization by the actors, which is done overly dramatically ensuring lots of rage and thought. There is nothing like a bunch of bad police to upset the balance and twist society into mayhem. Nibbles: Victoria Sandwich
