Roni A (it) wrote: This film was very educational for me regarding current culture in Iran. I had not realized how influenced by Western culture young people there can be, and that risk-taking behaviors aren't necessarily death sentences, even for women. This film showed modern-thinking teens and liberal-minded parents coping with life and having dreams for the future. I thought this was very interesting and entertaining. I would not recommend it for anyone offended by sexual and drug-taking scenes, as there are plenty of them in this. It was compelling though, even with subtitles, and the two lead young women were beautiful and honest, as was the father. I felt as if I were looking through a keyhole into a life I did not realize actually existed in Iranian families today living in Iran.

Amanda H (nl) wrote: There are a few too many twists at the end for me to be able to take the movie seriously, because it comes across as all too convenient. But overall, these are great performances from Susan Sarandon and Emily Blunt. It's a bit too slow moving to really be classified as a thriller, but it's intriguing anyway, despite being totally unbelievable by the end.
Magnus W (kr) wrote: Okay, I as fan of Modesty I couldn't skip this by even if it took some time before I saw it. I guess I was knowing what I would get. Something not complete accurate and not as good as one would have hoped for.So the plot is around telling Modesty's early history. They taken it out of the correct time period, but that basically works but I don't understand why. It is a tough job to portray Modesty. I think this one is going for a to cold persona. At least there are some truth to how modesty could handle a similar situation. However, the fight in the end is just silly. Modesty would have disabled the bad guy in 1 second. I guess the movie producers wasn't buying that. It is also strange that one find a movie only 77 minutes long to be relative thin and not have enough content in addition to being short. But I guess we should be thankful they didn't make it longer.

Nathan S (ca) wrote: Very cheezy 80s b-movie flick. It had a bunch of lame actors with the plot of two factory workers who quit their day jobs to fullfill their dream of being an successful sking duo while scoring with the local women. The script is so bad that it is hillarious to watch. Its a dumb movie that is quriky enough to recomend to kill time to laugh at unintentionally.

Curtis R (kr) wrote: Upbeat musical fantasy and sequel to "Purple Rain". I know alot of critics and moviegoers panned this movie but this is a movie for not only Prince fans like myself but fans of the film "Purple Rain" and everybody else is kinda just left scratching their heads. Prince shows a more spiritual side of himself on the "Graffiti Bridge" album but his singing and choreography hasn't changed one bit. The Kid is back and now he owns a club of his own but the only problem is his arch rival Morris Day has a monopoly on clubs and wants the Kid's half and to send him packing once and for all. Jerome is back for the ride as Day's right hand man as well as performers like Mavis Staples, George Clinton and Tevin Campbell.

David L (us) wrote: Monsters vs. Aliens has some solid characters, fine acting and the humor is pretty good, but the action is so bland and overwhelming, some characters are annoying, the plot is uninspired and boring and the whole film is too fast paced and too annoying to be enjoyed more. It has its moments, but it is mostly such a forgettable experience and a middling effort for DreamWorks Animation.
Tom M (gb) wrote: The opening sequence is film-school perfect. We're talking A Touch of Evil, except maybe even better because it's not so show-offy. The rest of the movie is textbook cinematic storytelling. Fuller conveys so much information in camera angle and cutting that script and plot are almost redundant. Fuller's technique, along with some fine performances all around (especially Widmark, Peters, Ritter, and Kiley), elevates what could be a run-of-the-mill noir to something special.
Heather M (us) wrote: This movie was very cute. Heigl as a sell out pharmaceutical seller is great fun to watch. I love her romance with her ex-coworker - they are the cutest couple in a low budget movie. I love chick flicks with happy endings and any movie that ends by sticking it to the man, This movie has both and kept me entertained the whole time.
