Romola Garai gave a brillant performance, it is shame she gets little roles in major films. Eddie Redmayne was great and is also very underrated. Overall all I can say this is good period film that shows a dark side of WWII that many people don't talk about. A time when people would put their cats to sleep and children did cruel things ( you will understand if you watch the film).

There was something very calming about seeing this wood cabin in a wilderness be built piece by piece with minimal tools/materials not found on site. This certainly seems to be a man at peace. The simple and straightforward nature of the images, when combined with the superb narration taken from Proenneke's journals was simply heartwarming. The conceit that this was actually his voice was very effective as well, even if I did suspect all along it wasn't. One of the more remarkable aspects of this is that the images are actually filmed by Proenneke decades ago. It seems incredible that someone would take the time to do this and then simply keep the images in their own private collection. I for one am overjoyed that Swerer has released them for the world to see. I'm pretty sure my Dad would like this one as well.

Vincent T (es) wrote: Michelle Pfeiffer y est superbe. Peut-etre un peu trop naive mais qui est a fond dans son role. Persos accrochants, on y croit !Sans oublier la BO qui a vendu le film a l'epoque.

Jens T (ru) wrote: Peter Weir's comedy Green Card is the story about the french immigrant Georges (Grard Depardieu) who is gonna get his green card if he sucseed if he can show that his marriage with Bronte (Andie MacDowell) is something more than just an excuse to let him stay in the U.S. But as all other romatic comedies, two very diffrent people falls in love after many quarrels. Green Card isn't a bad movie, but it does feel long from time to time, but some good laughts are there.

Kasey C (ru) wrote: The Dogs of War. Completely underrated movie starring Walken and Berenger. I had low expectations but it was surprisingly good. Solid entertainment from beginning to end. Every female role was fully unnecessary in the movie and that is not me being a sexist that is literally a fact. If you took the females out of the writing it would not change the plot or the way the story progressed even slightly. Not a lot to say though because it is the stereotypical war-like filler movie. Guns, explosions, cool stances while shooting guns, and face paint. Nothing new whatsoever but good nonetheless. 6.5/10

David L (it) wrote: The Secret in Their Eyes should be seen just for the performances because both Ricardo Darin and Soledad Villamil did a terrific job in their roles, but otherwise it is an incredibly tired and just downright tedious crime film that does not distinguish itself from other films of the genre at all. It is a dull movie that is too violent and disgusting at times, but mostly mediocre and forgettable.

Sharon A (es) wrote: Loved this film, I had forgot how good it was. Quite a few handsome men, made it even more enjoyable to watch.
