Arin D (kr) wrote: Despite the film poster this movie is as much about the class divisions remaining in French society as the sexual commingling of individuals across and within gender divisions. The film plays out the consequence of crossing boundaries of monogamy, class, race and sexual taboos within the rigid and cloistered situation of a French ' grande cole' (in this case ESSEC). Though imposing several unnecessary surrealist flourishes (cut away scenes with direct-to-viewer monologues, dream sequence imagery) that dilute narrative tension, this film tells a familiar story of romantic desire betrayed by power and ambition.. Worth watching for a glimpse of French 'elite school' life, despite some cloying segments (e.g., the 'refugee' from Sri Lanka who causes the sensitive Leftist MBA students to cry), and some stilted acting. Probably rated NR in the US.
