Just wan't good enough to get 4 or 5 stars from me, it was lacking something but I just can't figure out what that is.

With a combination of Adam Goldberg, Delpy's real life parents playing her screen parents - who are hilarious, and sharp and witty dialogue, Delpy has created a memorable screenplay and film. An observational love story, looking at what relationships consist of and what pulls them apart, set during a 2 day stopover in Paris where the cultural divide amplifies the relationship's existing problems. A heavy dialogue based film that is realistic, visually beautiful and is funny and highly enjoyable.

(mx) wrote: This is a fun movie, with some humor, romance, and adventure. I rate it as low as three stars because there were a few scenes showing and talking about a nude goddess statue and because I thought the Nazis were not like real Nazis (besides just their British accents)--they were too tame/polite. But it was an interesting story.

(us) wrote: I'm not sure which version I saw but it was only an hour and thirty minutes. I think it was an A&E presentation. So here it goes. It had a very strong made for t.v movie feel, however I loved the atmosphere it created. I find it odd that people often slam Agatha Christie. She was a very skilled writer, she wrote "And then there were None" which is in my top ten list of best books ever written. She was really good at setting a scene, however I will admit that for the most part she was kind of like Steinbeck. She brought in too many characters with no explanations about them. Which is why the best I listed above is her best, she had a small character list and her writing was flawless, that's one book I love to re-read. back to the movie, the acting is also quite good and it's well directed. If I was grading on a ten point scale I think this would get a 7.9. But I liked it, the guy that played Poirot was brilliant. A big problem with the film is the use of flashbacks, the cut-scenes are very awkward and it's very hard to tell which is a flashback and which isn't.

(ca) wrote: I really wanted to like this movie. Elizabeth and Dakota are so beautiful and intriguing but the story line is dry and I couldn't get passed the "love interest" I barely know what his face looks like because it was hidden behind terribly awful coloured/styled hair. Too bad
