The way the soldiers act is awesome and on point. It's super relatable. As an soldier soon to be vet I don't know what it's like to be in a combat zone so I've never see what a lot of these soldiers have seen already. But the movie, the movie is decent. A lot of switch backs which is understandable, but the acting is good and adorable. Not the best war movie, but it's not the worst. Also the portrayal of Texans is absolute garbage. The Dallas cowboys is centered in Dallas. Dallas isn't country. It's nothing but city out there. Not everyone out there is some country bumpkin. Also more emotion needs to be distributed amongst the platoon. Soldiers don't talk about the army 24/7 amongst themselves or to people.

I guess I can't properly write a critic thinking about how good the actress is since I don't know how Franoise Sagan was, but it gave me the urge to read some of our books. And also, the way it was presented, it reminded me a lot of Edith Piaf's life.

(it) wrote: hard to watch but important documentary film about the Catholic abuse scandal. One perpetrator priest is interviewed and a few of his victims also recall events. Abuse, especially in the church, is incredibly devastating physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
(mx) wrote: Even though the sequel provides more violence, but that's overcome by the film providing more action and being (a bit) more faithful to the well-known characters, making this better than its predecessor by being an improvement with the same feeling and rating from the enjoyment. A dad, doing all sorts of crimes, get's a sudden bonding with his two sons as they are in their early twenties or so. This results in shooting, drugs and several other crimes. A solid story that is taking nice turns. It's superbly acted by both Sean Penn and Walken in particular. It looks all right and it got some great scenes. Sadly, it's not all that as a whole. Not a constant thrill and it's not super interesting at times. I miss some realer emotions. With that said, it's very realistic - a good feature.I believe it's the first time I see a song and it's performer starting of the ending credits. A pretty weird touch, even if it was a hit and Madonna was Penn's wife and all.6.5 out of 10 windscreen wipers.

(ru) wrote: in no way this story may be considered "shallow" but simple! the synopsis gives huge spoilers and reveals almost the entire film in just 3 lines, but the point is not the depth of the story but its simplicity. how something so simple can be so well crafted, so polemic and so intelligent? thank you louis malle for this masterpiece!

(es) wrote: Over-the-top is completely fitting for the wild and violent story Quentin Tarantino has come up with for this alternate WWII tale. More than anything the performances are absolutely incredible. Christoph Waltz steals the entire movie as the Nazi Colonel Hans Landa.
(fr) wrote: I didn't realize how zany and hilarious this movie is! It's a great comedy, with a lot of heart. It's not as serious or insightful as Breakfast Club. It's its own beast and it's great!
