Ashley H (es) wrote: Brake is a disappointing film. It is about a Secret Service Agent is held captive in the trunk of a car and endures mental and physical torture as terrorists attempt to extract information for their plot against the President of the United States. Stephen Dorff and Chyler Leigh give awful performances. The script is badly written. Gabe Torres did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.

For example, one of the things that got me recalling this film years after seeing it is how this film touches on the possible repercussions of the growing social and economic disparity in our society right now, not just between traditionally disparate groups, but now among generations. I mean, the kids in the cult seem to be middle class for the most part.

Mark V (es) wrote: Spike Lee does one thing that I have never seen any other African American filmmaker do. He portrays Italians in movies probably better than Martin Scorsesse doea... In no way am I saying he is a better director than Marty but he definitely has one up on him. Speaking as an Italian, Marty portrays Italians as classy wiseguys with guns and nice suits... Spike Lee shows the Italians that I know. Nuff said... Now the movie itself is gritty, intense, and in parts hilarious as Mr. Lee writes hilarious dialogue. There are parts I think that are meant to make any person uncomfortable. Orgies, seedy sex clubs, etc. Not one to recommend but one that anyone would not get bored with. Only complaint... Ben Gazarra was pretty terrible
Wes S (nl) wrote: No where near as good as the first movie. The jokes aren't as great, and the plot is a bit dumb. It ignores some things that happened at the end of the first film, but at least it kept some of the characters. The effects aren't too great ether, and the ending could of been better. It's not the worst sequel I've seen, but it's a bit of a letdown after the fun of the first Re-Animator.

Yogesh R (au) wrote: No frills, no gimmicks -- just great acting from Guinness, Mills, and an excellent supporting cast (Gordon Jackson is particularly good, and Price is even better here than in "Coronets"). It's not as good as "Brodie," but this is one of Neame's best films, and an interesting study of what makes or breaks a leader.
