However its a low budget movie so 3 stars. Had a good twist but bad acting and putting together of the movie. Good story if edited, directed, acted, etc better

Still, I think San Andreas is a fun disaster film that should entertain a lot of people, and I'd probably recommend it. It was a poor choice that annoyed me right when I was most invested in the movie. However, they decide to leave the heroics entirely in the hands of the star. It wouldn't have diminished our hero in any way, and would have improved the ending significantly. But there is a scene where they could have empowered another character, and made this person a more vital part of the story, by allowing him to aid Johnson. Throughout the film Dwayne Johnson is basically a superhero, but I don't mind because he is the star of the film. At a certain point I wanted to say to the screen "We get it, these events are a metaphor for their crumbling relationship, stop over-explaining yourself!" But my biggest complaint in the movie was in the climax. I also had a slight issue with the ham-handed way they pointed out symbols in the movie. However, their actions didn't affect the main characters in any significant ways, so I struggled to see why we would pull away from the people we care about to hear from some people who are actually safe from the destruction. I see the purpose of them in the story, because it gives us perspective on the scope of the devastation, and also sets up the impending danger. The weakest parts of San Andreas were the scenes with Paul Giamatti and the Caltech team. Alexandra Daddario is charming as their daughter, and her companions on the journey (played by Hugo Johnstone-Burt and Art Parkinson) were easy to connect with as well. Dwayne Johnson is great as the heroic father figure, and Carla Gugino is perfect as the protective mother. The cast is what really drew me into the story. What this film does that works so well for me, is it takes a massive event that affected millions of lives, but it makes it feel smaller and more personal by focusing the story on a handful of people we care about. Yes, it's far-fetched and downright ridiculous at times, but I didn't care. San Andreas is not a great movie, but it is the kind of disaster movie that I enjoy

Avoid, unless you're playing some kind of drinking game. Thank goodness Wedding Crashers came along and saved this guy's career. There's a party scene where good ole Bradley has a two minute conversation with a guy who clearly has his voice overdubbed. Bad cinematography, really bad sound editing. Holy Terrible Batman! LOW budget Bradley Cooper movie from 2002

Felt Some It Was Very Strained & Scripted Rather Than Some Unexpected Creativity. A Slow, Methodical Story Works Against Some Special Effects That Were State Of The Art For It's Time

But it's great. The fact of the matter is, this movie is fucked up. The movie is driven by dialogue, and all of it feels natural and interesting. The way in which the film goes at great lengths to put a microscope over him is admirable and, well, fascinating. He is one of the most despicable, vile, depraved, and ugly characters ever put on film. During the entire film I was thinking to myself, shit, this guy should be at least in the top ten. I felt affirmed in my examination of character when, after watching the movie, I discovered that the character of Chad (played with slimy precision by Aaron Eckhart), was nominated for AFIs Heroes and Villains List. Oh wow

The Pryor Wilder combo is one of the best in movie and comedy history a true classic. Flat out enjoyable movie
