Lava Storm torrent reviews

Peter F (ru) wrote: The debut feature from Luca Guadagnino (who helmed this year's excellent A Bigger Splash) is awash in gorgeous cinematography and an aura that recalls Italian neo-realist greats. It's just the film's narrative is a little sloppy, and the bombastic ending comes off as melodramatic.

Harsh C (ru) wrote: Primarily a domestic violence drama but the power balance in the wider story is annoyingly illogical

Jimmy C (es) wrote: Despite a great direction and a surprising performance by Cuba, the movie is far from interesting or inspired.

Alexander Z (es) wrote: Bleak. Wish it had offered more backstory into why the brothers were so dysfunctional.

Brett B (gb) wrote: Diane Keaton gives an exceptional performance in this otherwise hit-and-miss drama. The character she plays is a frustrating one, and it's hard to truly root for her as the story progresses, but Keaton sells the character's innate flaws perfectly. On the whole, the movie is pretty uncomfortable to watch, mostly due to its rather unexpectedly frank (some might even say sleazy) depictions of sex, violence, and drug use, and this is heightened by the editing, which lends the story a fractured, vaguely dreamlike mood. All told, it's just a strange little movie; I'm honestly not sure if the film is asking us to condemn Keaton for her actions, or to sympathize with her (or both, or neither!), and this disconnect is rather starkly illustrated by the ending, which - while shocking and memorable - just left me wondering what the point of the previous two hours was. It IS a hell of a note to end the story on, though.

Nicola W (us) wrote: This really was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. It started off slow and didnt get much better. I laughed a lot at how stupid it was, it wasnt even slightly scarey. Dont bother wasting your time or money on this one

Cal V (kr) wrote: One of the most original films in quite some time. Every film genre thrown into one make this truly entertaining.
