Adriano B (de) wrote: Gareth Evans knows how to use a camera and direct an action flick, defining the national way to action genre (then reaffirmed wih The Raid): grittier and less flamboyant then the Thai neighboroughs, both storywise and with the stunt (seemingly lethal, as usual): just like Silat.

Bill B (nl) wrote: This was a wild hair re-watch off the To-Watch Pile, and I have to say that it holds up pretty well as far as the little rom-com I recall from the VHS days, and while it's nothing all that great, it's got some funny bits and Hurley is easy on the eyes, so why not give it a spin?Rental?

Laurelishish N (nl) wrote: That you give this movie such a low rating makes me think "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" This for me, was one of the funniest movies ever made about the very early "health freak" movement here in the US. The leads of this at that time were Bernard McFadden and Dr. John Kellogg. These two are the pioneers of the health craze, and some of their beliefs, regarding keeping clean concerning food and sex is simply hilarious. Remember, "An errection is like a flag pole upon a man's grave."
Ryan B (nl) wrote: Alright so I'm very positive that this was the first movie that I read before I watched the movie and I have to say the book was much better than the movie, in fact, I think the movie was a pretty big let down, I mean it was still somewhat good but they took some of the stuff that was in the book and didn't include it in the movie that I thought was pretty important, especially the ending. Alright now that I got that out of the way, let me get to the movie itself. The acting was pretty good, I'm kind of a fan of Harrison Ford and he's almost always good at the roles he gets. The villain played by Sean Bean also did a fairly good job, he could have done better though. Though it's considered, well I'm not sure whether it's considered an action movie or a political drama, either way it lack both action and political stuff. The ending is what I'm most disappointed about. The movie itself wasn't that great, but the bottom line is, I wouldn't watch it again, it wouldn't be worth it. Read the book. Unrecommended

Andrew B (jp) wrote: It's pretty obvious that Heathers borrowed from this film a bit, but in the end, Heathers is a vastly superior film. However, MCH is not without strong points. Yeah, it's low budget, but the story is intriguing, and extremely socially significant. The only thing that keeps this from being great is some of the acting. Overall, a pretty good flick.
Tom M (es) wrote: Ford explores the conflict between military duty and familial obligations in a variety of interwoven iterations. The family stuff is all tremendous, full of wonderful Ford touches and elevated by great performances by, and incredible chemistry between, Wayne and O'Hara. The treatment of the Apaches is, unfortunately, not quite so subtle. Victor McLaglen is great as always in a comic role.
William M (ru) wrote: Terrible time travel film that makes up the rules as it goes along. It's too bad such a great actor was wasted for this very subpar film. Denzel does at most 2 films a year, so yeah, wasted.
