Amelia R (br) wrote: Absolutely the worst anime I've seen, and I tend to be understanding. An experiment gone wrong: the animation is fine, although confusing, an attempt at animating old monogatari prints. The producers have neglected letting the audience in on the story, however, and it's not the kind of artful omission that makes one think intelligently.

Brock R (au) wrote: Idiosyncratic, but in that familiar 90s indie-grunge way, the characters are overblown and almost two-dimensional. The story of belief and (self-)rejection and success and failure is wrapped up in the undercurrent of a story about belief and (self-)rejection and success and failure. Quite too long, and self-indulgently pretentious throughout most of it, I ended up liking this film in spite of itself.

Dan H (us) wrote: First off not sure how this got such high ratings. Knew nothing of moving before watched. At first it started out kinda interesting wondering what's going to happen. Then all of a sudden it was like I was on drugs and really don't understand what they were trying to get at.
Grant S (ca) wrote: Quite disappointing. Whole movie had this flat, paint-by-numbers feel to it. No intensity, mediocre plot, slow moving and very little action for a war movie.Christopher Walken is solid in the lead role though.
