(ag) wrote: Really well-made and oftentimes touching profile on the Kuchar twins, which also serves as a nice introduction to their intimidatingly large body of work. I wrote a lengthier review and it somehow got lost in this thing so fuck it

(it) wrote: The Black Cobra is pure trash as far as low budget films go, but it sure is enjoyable trash. Everything about this film is poorly made: the storyline, the acting is dreadful, the dialogue is hilariously terrible, the picture quality is awful, the fight scenes are choreographed awkwardly...it's B-movie fun, overall. As cheesy and ridiculous the film is, it has a great deal of fun contained in it for a B-movie fanatic since it is all done with such energy. It's no masterpiece, but it works as a guilty pleasure.

(nl) wrote: Easily one of the most bizarre, intriguing science fiction films you are likely to witness. It's nonsensical but visually interesting (and no, I'm not referring to Connery in red nappies and knee-high boots!). Anyone familiar with John Boorman's films will notice some of the visual motifs in this film (the masked renegades on horseback, battering rams, forest settings, a round table dinner sequence) all re-appearing in 'Excalibur'. Not an overly satisfying movie but certainly not under-satisfying.
(kr) wrote: A good suspense film about getting away with crime. A good character development.
(ru) wrote: This is an engrossing and well acted biopic that tells a relevant and ultimately inspiring story. It feels a bit overlong at times but the movie is fascinating. Idris Elba does an excellent job portraying Mandela and he is definitely the film's strongest link. All of the supporting work is great too. It probably could have been better but it is nonetheless a solid film respecting a great man who never gave up in what he believed in. The strong themes, good performances, and relevance of the story ultimately make this one worth a watch.
