After writing a tell-all book about her days in the dance troupe "Barry Nichols and Les Girls", Sybil Wren is sued for libeling her fellow dancer Angele. A Rashômon style narrative presents the story from three points of view where Sybil accuses Angele of having an affair with Barry, while Angele insists that it was actually Sybil who was having the affair. In Cruzando, you have a heartfelt story about a father & son separated by the invisible fence, and a comedic version of "Under the Same Moon" as they try to reunite! Check it out, it's worth it!

Stunning background shots, just all in all a beautiful setting. I feel they stretched the movie a little too much, because for an hour and forty muinets, not much happened. Liked it rather well. But damn, talk about drama.

(kr) wrote: A very boring movie, the movie is about a girl living with an alcoholic mother and sister that is weird. She befriend an odd fellow played by Kevin Bacon. The problem with the film was it didn't struck me once. I lost interest during the first few minutes of the film which made the movie disastrous and boring. I was no only left so bored, but filled with contempt. I wanted some batteries, so I could chuck them at the film. This could have been a better film, but it wasn't. It makes itself somewhat of a cliche.

(mx) wrote: The typical "sign your soul to the devil contract" is the basis of this classic. A down on his luck farmer meets up with the devil (an extremely good take on Satan portrayed by Walter Huston) and trades his soul for 7 years good fortune. There are quite a few political undertones to this film, and it seems that in 1941, the American government still cared about the people. With some exceptional special effects for the day and very creative lighting, it succeeded. Not one of my favorite classics, and definately not a film noir (my personal preference...) but it held its intrigue over the years.

As a whole, Machete Kills feels less inspired than its predecessor; a few jokes don't work or are played out for too long. But when Rodriguez hits his stride, it's a rollercoaster of hilarity. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud gags in here, upping the lunacy level of the first Machete times 100. You simply can't question this movie. It's great schlock.
