Paul D (kr) wrote: A film with nothing good in it and with so little detail you'd have to watch the film several times over just to understand it.

Dave J (fr) wrote: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 (2008) Flash Point (In Chinese with English subtitles) ACTION Not the best action film Donnie Yen has ever done- not better than the ones he was contracted for with Yuen Woo-Ping but it is spectacular looking, especially the grappler and strangler holds UFC style. The storyline is of course admissable so you have to get your "fast-forward" button ready for some of the fight scenes. They're so impressive that at the end credits, the film showed how they were done making the fights more genuine than watching it when it's showed, practiced how it's done on the 'behind the scenes' at the end credits! Storyline gets zero stars Action gets 3/4

Kilo D (jp) wrote: Enjoy a western that is bloody and over the top? If so, Takashi Miike's brilliant take on the django story, "Sukiyaki Western Django" is a bold movie with a lot of the red stuff, bullets, sexy women, and naturally gun fights. All of this action is shot with vibrant visuals that are so saturated one can see the saturation of yellows and reds on the actors skin and the high contrast that's employed helps give the movie a cartoonish look allowing the violence to be more fun than if it were shot with the realism of "Audition". Furthermore, Mr. Miike has made a western that even non-fans of the genre can enjoy. A strange, silly, and superb addition to the western.

Yan E (gb) wrote: Interesting subject matter but very flawed film. To see George Peppard shoot a machine gun is very funny ; he puts so much acting into faking the effect of firing recoil that his gun goes in every direction but always hits the target. Also, the use of archive footage to compensate the lack of budget just doesn't work. All in all, it was still a good spy thriller.

Christopher S (ag) wrote: Despite its reputation as a masterpiece, I have to say I was underwhelmed. The fantasy elements may have been unique at the time, but don(TM)t quite hold up after having been expanded upon since by so many other films. Where it really falls short is in crafting believable characters, a lot of times we(TM)re expected to believe two characters are in love just because we are told they are. Not a bad film, but one I was never really able to connect with.

Giorgio P (kr) wrote: The direction and performances are absolutely oscar worthy and so much better than the oscar bait shit that actually gets the awards. Its hard to find movies with this sensetivity and sophistication. Its obvervant, honest, powerful and understanding.

Calvin R (kr) wrote: Insidious is very creepy, great performance, but the ending was tacky, and the creature wasn't scary no more.
