It's an experiment gone wrong until the last 15 minutes. Even then, the noteworthy visuals are spoiled by ear-splitting feedback. Reznik "ultimately opts for Brakhage over butchery"
(us) wrote: A tale of a movie that tried to mimic Fight Club, but failed magnificently. This film was terrible. The acting was pathetic at best, and the plot and directing were just not right. Pointless violence (not in a good way) and unrealistic to the nth degree, this is a film worth avoiding at all costs.

(br) wrote: The book, which deals with a group of rabbits seeking freedom, got Tolkien comparisons and was on everyone's must read list at the time. I have not read it yet. The producers chose to remain faithful to the book, and not sanitize the evil or bloodshed, and market it to adults. By staying true to the source, they succeed on the same counts where Bakshi's "Lord of the Rings," released the same year, fails. A courageous milestone in the genre. Essential.

(mx) wrote: Insidious is a very well directed horror film. James Wan proves himself again that he is the best horror movie director working today. The film is one of the scariest and a film that made me jump out of my seat in years. Oh and yes, this movie is filled with a lot of jump scares. For me, I do not enjoy jump scares that forces the audience to be scared. But in this film, the cheap jump scares are used very correctly and effectively. It knows when and how to use jump scares in certain amount of time and moment. The thing that this film is different than other horror films is that it avoids cliches and uses a ton of good and high quality jump scares. Overall, this film scared the hell out of me and got me in fear of shock by an ending twist.
