Aragorn K (nl) wrote: The story is mildly interesting, but the creative choice to make the mother an unlikable character makes those who watch White Bird in a Blizzard less interested in the movie than Shailene Woodley's character is in finding her own mother while off at Berkeley.

I remember feeling a genuine sense of awe and wonder when I first got to see Gollum and Treebeard come to life on the big screen. This movie really nurtures the imagination while at the same time offering an incredible amount of epic battles that will satisfy most movie fans. I love this movie.

Art S (jp) wrote: Every film buff knows that John Ford always chose the legend over historical fact and things are no different in his biopic of Abraham Lincoln. Henry Fonda is made up to look like Abe but his voice seems wrong. And, more or less, he can do no wrong. Still, as the lawyer who craftily tricks the real murderer into breaking down and admitting his guilt on the witness stand, this shows that Fonda could have played Perry Mason -- or that Raymond Burr should have run for President. The film is well-crafted and enjoyable.
