Life According to Sam
Progeria is an extremely rare and fatal disease, exemplified by accelerated aging in the children who are afflicted by it. There is no treatment. There is no cure. Enter Doctors Leslie Gordon and Scott Berns. When their son, Sam, was diagnosed with progeria at age two, the prognosis was grim—the couple were simply told to enjoy the few years they had left with their only son—but they weren’t willing to give up that easily. They spearheaded a campaign to save Sam and the other children in the world who share this devastating illness. In a little more than a decade, their extraordinary advances have led not only to identifying the gene that causes progeria and testing the first experimental drug to treat it but also to the amazing discovery that it is linked to the aging process in all of us.
'Life According to Sam' is about one family's courageous fight to save their only son from a rare and fatal disease, progeria. The average age of death from progeria is 13, there is no ... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

(ag) wrote: You have got to be kidding! One of the most boring, talentless people to ever make several million dollars ripping off people who have no clue what good music sounds like, or liked the Titanic soundtrack, just made a movie of one of her concerts. Probably to rip off those self-same people even more. While flicking channels, accidently saw 30 seconds of this crap - her doing a live cover of Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High". Was sacriligious on so many levels. Anorexic talentless white trash doing a cover of one of the great soul classics, in a French accent, and trying to do the Tina Turner strut. Pathetic.

I loved the interplay between Edith and George and was heart broken at the ending. The cinematography was beautiful, and the plot, although formulaic and predictable, was in spite of that well thought out and entirely plausible. There was drama, most prominently when George and Edith are called on to participate in the drama class that they crashed, and plenty of care-free lighthearted moments. This is the second film that I've seen where Vera's younger sister, Taissa, plays her daughter and she is an actress to be watched. One wonders if her character will find a balance to her life or whether seeing her dreams crushed will cause her to crash and burn. I have to give it five stars!

(br) wrote: You can't expect cinematic genius. The After Dark Horrorfest is about low-budget, groan-inducing, yet somehow oddly creepy slasher flicks, most of the time. And honestly, this is one of the better ones I've seen. That doesn't mean I'd compare it to any huge blockbusters or anything, but for what it is, it's a solid film and I enjoyed it.

(ca) wrote: Action junkies, will definately get their fill, with this one. Mark Dascascos, switches the flow and plays the villain. A very intelligent action/drama.
(gb) wrote: It's not easy to like Mel Gibson. How is it possible he was once the sexiest man alive? In this we get to see him wear pantyhose and red nail polish and electrocute himself a few times. It's worth watching for the gorgeous set designs.
(mx) wrote: not a bad flick, but the whole timei was sitting there wondering y the hell she was doing the stupid things she was doing
(gb) wrote: Heartbreaking. This is a very simple movie but Trossi gives an incredible performance.
(us) wrote: We rented this on a whim a few years ago and were really caught off guard on how funny this was. One of my favorite comedies now. RIP Christopher Reeves and John Ritter.
(gb) wrote: This is my 1000th review. Yep, Ernest Goes to Camp is the perfect movie for this milestone, knowwutimean? Ok, me neither. When I was a kid, I kind of hated this one, though I greatly enjoyed some of the follow-ups. That opinion hasn't changed much, but that has more to do with the script and production than with Jim Varney, who is great as Ernest.

(nl) wrote: In terms of entertainment value I vastly prefer some of the more traditional storytelling in other Disney classics but it's impossible to deny the artistry on display here in 'Fantasia'. It's the kind of movie that can legitimately be shown on the wall like a piece of art or playing in the background for simple musical enjoyment, but when you put those two elements together it is a truly beautiful and daring piece of work for its time.
