(us) wrote: This movie is about what is and what is not, both in music and in life... about understanding when is it better to continue, even if with struggle, and when is it time to call it quits. It's about accepting that, in life, the only valid moment is the present. As T. S. Eliot magnificently wrote it: "Time present and time past are both perhaps present in time future, and time future contained in time past. If all time is eternally present all time is unredeemable."

(br) wrote: Bunuel's last film is also perhaps his most complete statement regarding the themes of passion, religion and politics which he so often dealt with throughout his career. With great finesse and by flirting with absurdity as he so often did in his best works, in a surreal fable he takes to the screen one of the best portrayals of sexual obsession and frustration of all time.

Though not my favorite of Satyajit Ray's films, this film still has many earmarks of his greatness. Not the least of which are the great performances of the cast that gives fresh life into the love triangle/adultery story. The ending, in particular, is beautiful and haunting.
(it) wrote: The guys behind Shaun of the Dead have made another great, hilarious movie. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are hilarious and the film is a great satire of action cop movies like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard. Highly recommended!!!
