Sathyan V (ag) wrote: NANBAN REVIEW: If Aamir Khan could do it, so could Vijay. Even Vijay haters will be awed by his performance and you will forget your watching the remake of 3idiots! Shankar proved that he can even make a remake successfully. Manoj's camerawork was awesome especially songs were well made. The heroine seemed nothing great and looked like a grandmother. But what really makes Nanban unique is the amazing performances from Vijay, Sathyaraj,Sathyan,Jeeva and also the dialogues.! RATING: Never rate FRIENDSHIP!

Alise S (ag) wrote: This is the shittiest movie I've ever fast forwarded through in my whole life. It's not clever in any way, it's pathetic and annoying and ridiculous and I want to punch all the writers in the dicks/vaginas.
Eric H (gb) wrote: I simply don't get what people hate so much about this movie. I enjoyed it. I can certainly think of worse movies to spend time watching and the intent here I think was to make a movie about a bunch of high losers that manage to bumble through to a semi successful ending. But like all movies if you want to know for sure you'll have to watch it yourself.
Robert M (au) wrote: I read the book in the sixth grade, saw the film afterwards, and still a pretty good classic today. One of LaBeouf's first major hits. A nice family film that includes a pretty in-depth story about an unusual family and their history. While LaBeouf's character ends up going to a fairly severe desert-like jail for kids and teens, he discovers more about his family's history then he could've imagined. Overall, a fun and adventurous story that I would recommend to just about any kid at the age I watched it.
Paul B (ag) wrote: Bookies is one of my personal favorite movies that has always flown under the radar. An enjoyable movie that about gambling, the mob, and college life. Oh, to be in college again!! Nick Stahl & Rachel Leigh Cook (what ever happened to her?) both give great performances. The story is quite good, but the actual possibility of this being a reality lacks a bit though. A couple of college kids vs. the mob, who is gonna win? I strongly believe that this is a movie every guy should see. Don't expect anything great, but it is still a good way to spend an hour and a half.

Eddie A (mx) wrote: One of Karloff's last films at this point he had trouble walking and had half a lung left, but he still was entertaining as ever. Great camera work, like the trailer says makes the audience feel like they're pulling the trigger.
Eric N (br) wrote: One of the greatest movie achievements ever. A future martial arts historical figure playing a past one. A movie with the deep beauty and esthetics of Zhang Yimou's "Hero" with the real feel of Tsui Hark's "One Upon A Time In China". Even though I've seen hundreds of these types of movies, seeing this one makes me feel as if it's my first time seeing "Crouching Tiger" or "Iron Monkey" and I become a kid again. Between the action, visuals, and most importantly the message, this is a movie that can not be surpassed.
John M (au) wrote: Hellraiser set in the Se7en universe is something that I am okay with. So this is about an obsessed detective (Craig Sheffer) who is trying to track down a serial killer who goes by the handle of 'The Engineer', but is having difficulties when he starts to have hallucinations of demons. As soon as Inferno starts, you can tell immediately that there is more competency behind the filmmaking than the past two movies put together. This is directed by Scott Derrickson, who has gone on to have a successful directing career (go see Sinister if you haven't already), so this is not all that surprising. Everything about this has a fresh, ambitious feel that was missing previously; the cinematography is thought out, the material feels inspired, and the characters are actually given interesting things to say. Sheffer is playing this flawed, gray character, and because he is the main character with imperfections in a Hellraiser movie, I was never 100% certain how it would play out. What this installment does is takes this seedy detective mystery and puts it in a Hellraiser story, which does help to invigorate the series. I really did enjoy this a lot, and the only thing I can imagine fans having a complaint with is the fact that there really isn't all that much Pinhead. He is featured for about 8 minutes or less, but this never really bothered me; if you've seen the first two movies (which were the ones that got it right), you would know that the more mysterious the cenobites remain, the better.
