That sort of works in this film's favor because there aren't a whole lot of plot details for a story that runs over 2 hours. Having this subplot unveil throughout the entire picture helps cover that up. On a side note, the Red Eagle even seems like a background character in the early going. The action comes complete with some good choreography, along with some decent enough effects. The bone effect shots for the major blows stand out and the violence even gets bloody from time to time. The Red Eagle versus Black Devil segment is a notable highlight of the film. The acting is good, although the characters need a little more work. Ananda Everingham is an effective superhero while the lovely Yarinda Bunnag is a good leading lady. Wannasingh Prasertkul tends to stand out as a show stealing cop.Red Eagle does have imperfections and blemishes; however, there are enough positives to turn this into a passable Thai superhero movie.

Mark S (au) wrote: Regular Johnnie To collaborator Law Wing-Cheong takes up directorial duties on this To-produced light hearted drama about breast cancer. starts off well, with Miriam Yeung and Richie Ren making a likeable pair, but the film starts to shift its focus later on. Miriam is cute and fun to watch as always. Milkyway regulars Lam Suet, Hui Siu-Hung, Gordon Lam, and Eddie Cheung all stop in for bit parts as well.
Sean S (es) wrote: Although the acting was of a high class the script is predictable and the dialogue isnt great but the charachters are a nice change and the directing is pretty good by deciding to make it a drama rather than a rom-com which would have been more commercially successful was a brave move but one that maybe didnt pay off.

Jared Leto is amazing as well. Based on his other work, to be honest, I didn't think he had it in him, but he really surprised me and does an excellent job with the role. It's inspirational and a great tribute to a great man. I would definatly suggest seeing it!.
