Jamie I (au) wrote: I'll admit that I was scared and couldn't watch The Silent House (La Casa Muda) without at least one light on. This movie is uniquely shot in one long take which I think adds to the suspense you feel while traveling around with Laura in one freaky house. After a while the movie does come to a shocking conclusion which you may or may not anticipate. I didn't. Make sure you stay through the credits and after for some unsettling footage (not necessarily scary but slightly disturbing). Recommended.
craig d (ca) wrote: A well crafted film that lets the story be the drama. The film is a well paced film that slowly drives the tension into you. This film fits nicely with the documentary, "Mugabe and the White African". The film keeps you locked in the frame while making the events difficult to watch and stomach. A technically great piece that already feels like it has a lot of staying power. After pointless sequels are being propped up into theaters, it's refreshing to see films like this that are classic, real, intense, tight, story-driven, inspiring, informative, and thought provoking. I will be thinking about this films for days.

Barney o (fr) wrote: WHAT I LIKED: To bring in a new Bond, they shook up everything. Here we get something much more light-hearted and fun, but luckily this first Moore entry is more charming than silly. As a result, we see the benefit of it taking itself less seriously - a film that's charming and enjoyable and makes you smile. Sure it's less refined than previous Bonds, but the last few were getting a touch stale. This a a nice breath of fun fresh air, and a much-needed one too.WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: As I said, it takes away some of the refinement and grittiness of Sean Connery's more developed Bonds. And it does mark the beginning of the goofy humour we know is yet to come...VERDICT: An altogether lighter Bond film that's just a bit of fun. How nice it was before Moore went over the top.
Charles G (es) wrote: A very poor film, which is a shame considering the cast they've assembled. No real humour to redeem it. Typical Jim Carey character, but the film appears to be more of a sad microcosm of where his career currently resides - plummeting to new lows.
