This film is about the life of socially deprived people who lives in caged housing in Hong Kong. Given the very tough topic of social deprivation, extreme poverty and shockingly appalling living conditions, I expected "Cageman" to be very tough to watch. This turns out not to be the case. Instead, "Cageman" is a warm, positive and loving film about friendship. People in the caged housing live as harmonious as possible, supporting each other by their limited means. . Duncan L (de) wrote: A box office hit in South Korea, one wonders how this movie has achieved such a hit as it's quite nothing exceptional about it Of course, the script is a well written one but the comedy is somewhat laughable.A boy whom supposedly should be in college 2 years ago is still a high school student. When his father hires a tutor to make his son pass and go to college, little did his son knows that he will meet his match - a college girl from a poor family with a bad temper. When they meet, fiery sparks fly as both disrespect each other until they realize they needed each other?Kwong Sang-Woo, one of the hottest actors in South Korea stars with Kim Ha-Neul, another popular actress in one of the funniest mix-match misfits of teacher versus student scenario. But to me, the comedy level was just so so and it's not always funny all the time as there are moments where human drama takes places. But both actors chemistry is well done and seriously gave the audience what they need - a good performance. My Tutor Friend is somewhat nice, but I feel it could have been much better if the level of human drama should be balance slightly off with a lot more comedy element in it. It's still a worthwhile watch.

Danny R (ru) wrote: Bob Fosse's brilliant biopic about the late stand up comic Lenny Bruce, played by Dustin Hoffman in a bravura Oscar nominated performance, his portrayal of the tortured self-destructive and inventive Bruce is enough reason to see this fascinating motion picture. Lenny's groundbreaking no-holds-barred comic style was way ahead of its time, filled with profanity and sexually explicit material which got his act banned in many venues. Bruce who was a heroin addict and tragically overdosed in 1966, after being harassed by the police and the courts for years. Remarkable Oscar nominated direction by late great Fosse, with dazzling black & white cinematography by the late Bruce Surtees, and outstanding supporting performances by Jan Miner, Stanley Beck, Frankie Man, and Rashel Novikoff. Special kudos must go to the sexy Valerie Perrine, for superlative Oscar nominated performance as Honey Bruce, Lenny's long suffering wife. But this is Hoffman's show all the way and he is a marvel to watch. Highly Recommended.

Serge L (jp) wrote: Still totally watchable, the story starts slowly and develops into a murder trial. Huge surprise during the trial when the real killer admits to the killing. However, I see a cruel downside to this: the police trying to outsmart people they think are guilty by having them confess. Now we know that so many confessions are not real, we can only wonder if this would apply to the trial mr. Lincoln won... but in reality the witness did not kill his friend and the murderers simply were released because the witness lied about being able to see with the moonlight that night.

St A (kr) wrote: Not as good as "...vs Crocosaurus" but way better than "...vs Giant Octopus".....hey, it's a Mega Shark film from The Asylum, so it does what it says on the tin, and can be fun once expectations are lowered (along with sobriety level).

Brad S (au) wrote: This sequel to "In the Heat of the Night" is nowhere near as good as the first film. This story is set in San Fransisco instead of the South and removes the tension the first film had. This movie is just a standard detective thriller. Martin Landau is good in a supporting role, and Sidney Poitier is good as he always is, there just isn't enough for them to work with. Quincy Jones does the film's core. This one is for fans only, otherwise skip it.
