Trentyn P (kr) wrote: Michael Moore proves effective in getting America to stop and think, not only about the big tragedies, but the fear mongering that comes both as a result and maybe a potential cause. Moore's personal passion for the subject shows through and adds to the earnest authenticity of the film. While pacing was an issue and the name may be misleading, the point isn't: these sort of questions don't necessarily need to be answered, but they certainly need to be asked. Particularly impressive sequences include Moore's trip to Windsor, Ontario where citizens don't lock their doors at night and his personal interview with the leader of the NRA. This film packs an emotional wallop at times while steering away from pandering or appealing to pathos. Rather, the facts and stories are presented for the viewer to interpret, the way a good documentary should.

He treats his perfectly nice girlfriend like shit until she leaves him, but its okay, she was like a total bitch anyway, and he gets to trade up to the superhot babe starring in the movie! Oh, and Jason Schwartzman is in it, which is simply throwing gasoline on an irritating hipster fire.

Sure it has its hilarious scenes, but the trademark character is the exact same with the exact behavior and exact dirty jokes.

Brooke S (ag) wrote: Not the worst movie I've ever seen, had some good laughs here and there. I didn't realize why people hated this movie so much, but then again I was LISTENING to it rather than watching it, as I usually do tedious artwork with a movie playing to help the time pass. I liked moments in this movie rather than the whole movie itself, which did kind of seem a little disjointed. I love Kevin Smith but I heard he smoked weed the ENTIRE time he directed and edited this. His movies are usually tighter than this even when they have a lot going on (Dogma, for example). And why was the background music like Gameboy Color type stuff or 80s hair metal? BTW, neither of these are complaints.

Max S (us) wrote: Probably one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen. It didn't start off too bad, but the ending was terrible, with a complete lack of resolution, and not much character development. It was basically a little over 2 hours of gratuitous war sequences and depressing storyline. Despite the fact that he was not directing this time, Gareth Edwards did serve as executive producer. That being said, when the original director leaves, it's a risky move, and in this case it didn't pay off. Even as executive producer he couldn't save this mess. To make things worse, you can tell by watching the movie from start to finish, that the whole team behind the film thought they were gonna get a franchise, assumed they didn't have to give it any kind of resolution or give the audience some answers about what happens to the characters. In a way a microscopic part of me is glad it was this bad, because that means they won't have the chance to make the next one worse.
