Los Scandalous - Skid Row

See what makes Skid Row tick, a tell all, never before seen, raw documentary about the harsh reality of the street life in Los Scandalous - Skid Row. The homeless capital of The United States. Watch through my lens, as I show the true gutter life in Los Angeles; from prostitution, homelessness, hard addiction, the drug dealers perspective, police corruption and the system designed to keep them all there. My name is Shanks Rajendran and I'm a 28 year old Australian filmmaker. I shot this documentary to uncover the truth about Skid Row, the people, the place, and the politics behind it.

Joyce B (ca) wrote: What on earth did I just watch? If it weren't for the great acting, I would have given this film 1 star. This story within a story within a story lacks depth and the characters are underdeveloped, resulting in a muddled mess. Very disappointing because the premise is good.

Dana N (gb) wrote: Could not finish it. Acting bad, story bad, scenery good.

Christian M (ca) wrote: I genuinely enjoyed this movie.

Michael M (jp) wrote: Excellent film, interesting story with meaningful message. Recommended.

Jaret M (de) wrote: Why are these jerkweeds allowed to make one pile of crap after another. What Hollywood big-wig are they blackmailing?

Mike C (it) wrote: I feel like I've been tricked a little. That's usually a no-no. Until then, I thought this was quite a fine Norwegian flick. It still may be. But movie tricks just don't do it for me. (Actually, in the time it's taken to write some of this I've decided it's quite smart and bumped it up to an 8/10.The movie is the intertwining of several stories: a couple having a child, a suicidal, a con, a person in a mental hospital. Oh, you've heard that one already?! It's quite slow and pretty interesting. You know from the first scene of the movie where all the characters will be at the end. The story then starts over of sorts on this hottest day in Oslo. That's a great use of drama or irony or whatever it is. You know how the story will end but don't know how it will get there. There are clues along the way to make it more engaging. Finally, the ending comes and it's not quite what you expect. That, I have a problem with.New find: It just hit me that I wasn't necessarily tricked. In that case, it's a pretty slick movie. You won't learn anything from it, so it could be a waste of time, but it is a nice, dark, well-acted drama.

Brent H (ca) wrote: One of my favorite movies. Great performances from Robert Downey Jr., Charles Grodin, Kyra Sedgwick, Elizabeth Shue, Tom Sizemore, David Paymer, and Alfre Woodard.

Randall M (mx) wrote: Downey Jr.s best movie. And it's one of the ones he talks less in, so go figure. He was ahead of his time in his acting abilities, and his acting intellect shines through. The Biopic about Chaplin was fun and entertaining and very nice in some places with great emotional sadness in others. On the whole I enjoyed the film, because I see myself as being somewhat of a Chaplin, myself. Four and a half stars here, possibly more on a better day.

Jordan V (ru) wrote: A pure slice of 80's with a cool whipped topping of social commentary. Delicious.

Stevie S (gb) wrote: Shirley Temple creeps me out, man!

Daniel R (ca) wrote: This movie is a great blend of action, suspense and comedy in the tradition of Boondock Saints and Pulp Fiction. Don't let the other reviewers stop you from enjoying this awesome ride.

Samuel M (gb) wrote: An average Ashton Kutcher film.

Alec L (gb) wrote: Enjoyable comedy if rather basic and ridiculous.
