Antonio Campos, who directs, writes, and handles cinematography, uses the power of his images with a measured and confident hand, creating a world where impersonality reigns, and the protagonist's face is only shown in the shot for about a third of the film. What results is a compellingly shot and powerful mediation on the times we live, created by a bold new force in film.
