(it) wrote: an incredible introspection on the rise and fall of the grunge scene in the late 80's-early 90's. much like so many music scenes, the front-runner of the drama in the media's eye is rarely the band that got it started. its more the band with the best image (see Sex Pistols punk) see The Beatles (Liverpool scene) and even Connor O'burst of the Omaha scene at his time. the same could even be said for Justice in the french-electro scene of the mid 2000's. None of these artists were the pioneers of their time, they just became that way in the media's eye and bypassed the hard work of the original bands. but that's how it happens, folks.

(mx) wrote: One of my all time favorite films, I love this movie. Brain Damage is about a boy and his journey through a wild drug trip caused by a weird little parasite that grants a feeling of euphoria in exchange for brains. It all starts out like your classic 80's film, it also has that 80's charm to it, so points there. It is a film that must be seen to believe. It has some pretty decent acting, some okay dialogue but its all about the story here! We meet our main character Brian who is your typical teen in the eighties. He's got some things going for him, he's got a pretty girlfriend a swell roommate, so life is pretty good at this point. Well that all changes until he meets Aylmer who is a little parasite capable of granting euphoria, all he has to do is put himself on Brian's neck and boom! Pleasure center.Well it all goes good for a while until this little drug trip comes with a price. I don't really wanna spoil anything so definitely check this one out, definitely worthy of camp cult status. One of my favorite scenes is the cameo from Basket Case, just the little things that makes these movies great. I also like the box of cereal on the fridge that says "Frosted Flakes" with a pure white label...but now i'm talking about cereal boxes so I am going to wrap this one up. Its a great film all around, not a masterpiece but definitely worth a watch or two. This is surely one that will not disappoint! Nine out of ten stars!
