Mateus Z (ru) wrote: A small-scale, but very beautifully made movie reminiscent of "Il Postino". The film offers very little innovation with it's thin plot centering itself around a young mother who proves to be too extravagant for the taste of the inhabitants of the little island of Lampedusa. However, ironically it is precisely this simplicity that charms the viewer, along withi it's visuals, it's innocence (largely due to the fact Lampedusa is presented through the eyes of an adolescent boy) and, above all, the films unconstrained naturalness. If you don't mind the films relaxed pace, you will appreciate how greatly relaxing and heartlifting this flick is.
