Lover Come Back

Rock Hudson and Doris Day are together again! Jerry Webster (Hudson) and Carol Templeton (Day) are rival Madison Avenue advertising executives who each dislike each other’s methods. After he steals a client out from under her cute little nose, revenge prompts her to infiltrate his secret "VIP" campaign in order to persuade the mystery product’s scientist to switch to her firm.

Jerry Webster and Carol Templeton are both in the advertising business, but for different agencies. Annoyed by Jerry's methods of using alcohol and women to ensure contracts for his agency, Carol tries to get him thrown out of his profession. To avoid this Jerry bribes the girl who'd testify against him, by starring her in a TV commercial for a product named VIP that he's just made up. By accident these commercials are broadcasted and to keep his job, Jerry has to come up with VIP for which he enlists the help of Doctor Linus Tyler. Carol goes to see the Doctor to try and get the VIP account, but because she and Jerry have never met, she mistakes Jerry for the Doctor. Jerry then takes advantage of this situation to win her. . Sameel S (es) wrote: Very good clean family movie. A little preachy, but good message. We need more of these.

bill s (jp) wrote: Tries to be the funny, gross and quirky indie horror film.Doesn't come remotely close but tries.

Kaokla G (es) wrote: so underrated film .

Sarah C (de) wrote: Compelling documentary which shows the sad reality a wounded soldier's must live with.

Dave W (ag) wrote: There's is absolutely no excuse for the making of this. If you really feel the divine need to check this out, then go right ahead and bore a drill through your skull because it's the exact same thing.

Tatsuhito K (ru) wrote: There are some questionable moments (the flashback sequence being one of them) and the story doesn't really make any sense. But overall, Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a beautifully directed film with some impressive martial arts battles. Some of the character motivations are poorly realized, but I really enjoyed the action sequences.

Billy P (fr) wrote: Reminds me of my youth in Ireland in the late 60's early 70's. I was only a child but do remember the Craic (sense of humour), awful housing and the fight for money. This film captures this really well. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

bill b (gb) wrote: i STILL dont understand why this is a relatively high rated film....for me is the totaly boredom

Hans B (ru) wrote: Great movie about a drug dealer being made a hero against evil Turks..can't get any better.. Technically, it is very amateurishly shot, but interesting story line..

Stuart K (au) wrote: Produced by Ealing Studios and directed by Alexander Mackendrick (The Man in the White Suit (1951) and The Ladykillers (1955)), this was adapted from a 1947 book of the same name by Compton MacKenzie, who also wrote the screenplay here. It's an amusing tale of canny locals in a remote area taking advantage of something big that happens. The result has some very hilarious consequences. On the remote Scottish island of Todday in the Outer Hebrides in 1943, life has been happy for the villagers, and they haven't been affected by rationing. That is until their supply of whisky runs out, and they're left high and dry, and it leaves the villagers in a gloomy slump. That is until the S.S. Cabinet Minister runs aground. The villagers, including Sammy MacCodrun (John Gregson), storekeeper Joseph Macroon (Wylie Watson) and The Biffer (Morland Graham) go out to investigate, and discover the ship has a cargo of 50,000 cases of whisky. They pilfer as much as they can, but Captain Paul Waggett (Basil Radford) off the Home Guard is onto the locals. It's got a cheeky sense of humour, and it has a good script with some very funny dialogue along the way too. Unlike many of Ealings films, it hasn't dated at all, and it has a timeless feel to it. It has some really funny and offbeat performances, and it's tone was carried over into similar films like Local Hero (1983) and Waking Ned (1998)

John T (fr) wrote: Pretty good flick. A lady must come to grips with who she really is after seeing visions.

Matt R (br) wrote: An interesting and chilling idea, even though the plot is rendered pointless by the film's own mythology real early on in the proceedings. Still there are enough memorable moments to recommend this grisly thriller.

Jessica H (de) wrote: Fumbles, but occasionally gets it right.

Owen L (us) wrote: Unique, original, and well put together. One of the best animated films I've seen. Kung Fu Panda makes viewers open their minds - and dream.

Philip R (it) wrote: First Time director David Von Ancken, who directed episodes for such TV shows like Without a Trace, CSI: NY, and Californication, wrote and directed a very interesting western set five years after the Civil War about a former Confederate Colonel name Carver (Liam Neeson) who, along with his hired posse, hunt down a resourceful and knife skilled ex-Union Officer name Gideon (Pierce Brosnan) through the snowy mountains of the American West with whom he has a grudge against. Who would have thought that Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson, two Irish actors and both big admirers of the Western movie genre, acting together in an American Movie Western? I didn't. They led a very good cast of actors such as Michael Wincott (The Crow), Angie Harmon (TV's Law and Order), Wes Studi (The Last of the Mohicans), Ed Lauter (The Longest Yard), Tom Noonan (Last Action Hero), Kevin J. O' Connor (The Mummy), Xander Berkeley (Air Force One), and Anjelica Huston (The Addams Family 1 & 2). The setting of this movie from Taos, New Mexico and Oregon was beautiful to watch because this whole movie was shot outdoors and never on a movie studio stage. Anyway, SERAPHIM FALLS is an okay movie to watch, If you like westerns.

Bill T (jp) wrote: Good, but not as good as the other two. Mind you, this is great. but you know what I mean. This is the one with the endless talking trees and that senile king. Ohhh boy. Oh yeah, and lots and lots of Gollum.Rewatch notes: I either was too harsh on this or I liked this a lot better the second time around. Was a fun rewatch that's for sure.

Lovyn L (br) wrote: The ending is ridiculous, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Adventurous, with an honest message about life.

Alex K (ag) wrote: Funny in places and a good watch but overall not a complete blasts.
