Mira Mohd S (ca) wrote: The promos seem to mislead as another run of the mill gangster movie, well its not! The 1st half is mainly based on the bromance between the awesome Saif Ali Khan & the Charming Jimmy Shergill, while the second half turns into a political revenge drama. Sonakshi Sinha looks graceful but is clearly forced into the plot & the brilliant Vidyut Jamwal (After Force & Commando this guy is surely becoming the next action star of Bollywood) is superb in a minor but pivotal role. The hiccups ? well the editing is not top notch as the pace keeps hitting brakes with mediocre songs composed by the dont know why popular Sajid Wajid along with the forced romantic angle & unnecessary sub plots. Nevertheless this has Tigmanshu Dhulia written all over it!

My husband and I love this documentary so much; but after trying to share it with our friends we quickly realized that the slow pace of a doc is boring for some people who just want to see how brilliant Koko is. Nevertheless, we still love it as I think it's "not just about Koko".

Stephanie D (fr) wrote: I hated this movie. Yes it was cinematographically amazing-with artistic shots reminiscent of Mr. Turner's paintings, yes the acting and costumes transported you to the time period so you had a very real feel of the historic sweep of the life of Mr. Turner-but what the heck was going on in Mr. Turner's personal life? What is this bizarre sexual relationship with the maid, why does he ignore his wife and children, what are his emotional reactions to the various negative feedback about his paintings. There is no story arc, there is no growth in the character, there is no resolution or climax. Perhaps if it is viewed as an art movie it is supposed to be excused from these requirements-but I found the movie terribly unfulfilling and ultimately disappointing and a terrible waste of time.
