(fr) wrote: Richard Grieco is fun to watch, but seems very oddly cast here. Adrian Paul is solid in this type of character (never understood why he didn't get better roles after Highlander) and the supporting cast plays their typecast roles well. Taken for what it is - a SyFy channel style, Saturday afternoon, mash-up of genres and source material type film, it's not bad. Trust me you've seen worse. Pretty well done twist at the end too.
(nl) wrote: I don't usually watch swedish movies which can be strange because I am Swedish myself. But I was stuck when I started watching this movie. Not because the story, which actually was quite weak and partly a little bit slow and also too much dreamy! But instead I was impressed of the actress Eva Rse who made this movie very intresting. Her play, together with the acting over all, saves the whole movie. This movie shows one side of the swedish culture and totaly I think this was OK!
(gb) wrote: It was actually better than I thought, thus the two stars but it also felt like a rip-off of James bond, even the music was quite familiar.Tomer Sisley is actually doing a pretty good job, his "american acent" is pretty good as well. The rest is a standard action movie. I've seen worse in the genre.

(kr) wrote: There are a couple of qualms, but it actually is a really decent science fiction film.
(mx) wrote: Actually I cannot find the words to truly describe this film, I think you will either get it or not, it moved me beyond belief.

(mx) wrote: Jessica Lange stars as the country music legend Patsy Cline. From her start appearing in clubs and her problem marriages and other struggles. This movie pretty much covers her whole story, and does it well. Ed Harris plays her husband and really brings something to the movie. She was the greatest country singer of all time in my opinion, and a very spirited woman .
(ca) wrote: Murder by Death is a very good silly-funny Neil Simon satirical comedy, with a super all-star cast cavorting as recognizable pulp fiction detectives gathered at the home of Truman Capote, wealthy hedonist fed up with contrived gumshoe plots. This spoof of the great fictional-film detectives offers consistently funny scenes. The cast list reveals the adroit mating of performer to send-up prototype, plus Alec Guinness as Capote's butler, Nancy Walker as mute maid. Falk is terrific as the fiercely posturing Humphrey Bogart-Sam Spade prototype, with the other leading players not far behind him in a race for the insane asylum. Capote is so bad an actor that he's funny, which may or may not be the point. Every single player conveys a casualness and off-handedness which, of course, is the mark of comedic excellence. Generally successful send-up of classic mysteries with a lame finale. VERDICT: "High-Quality Stuff" - [Positive Reaction] This is a rating to a movie I view as very entertaining and well made, and definitely worth paying the full price at a theatre to see or own on DVD. It is not perfect, but it is definitely excellent. (Films that are rated 3.5 or 4 stars)
(it) wrote: I really didn't know how I felt about this movie until the last half... Though I have seen better musicals, there was something about the end of this film that broke me in a way I wasn't expecting. I felt the Phantom's pain so acutely, yet I still supported Christine's decision. Better than I thought!
(fr) wrote: This does two things. Presents a beautiful super villain story. And more importantly, what would you do if you had super powers? -4 Brians applauding.
(jp) wrote: A little slow paced at times, but overall a very well made film with Steve Carrell, Mark Ruffalo and Magic Mike delivering their best performances to date. Foxcatcher isn't a movie you love as much as something you simply appreciate for what it is, a dark character study with wonderful bleak visuals. There are countless rewarding scenes. Bravo Bennett Miller.
