You will hear that it has a slow rythim, beautiful pictures, and so on, but in my own perspective I saw even more from it, I got the gently gestures, that sometimes they become stronger than words. In the story all the caracters are falling deep into their minds desires, all provoke by the beaty and natural perfection that the main caracter Jesse represents, like the golden apple of discord, even Jesse gets lost in her own perfection, and making it so poetic and ironic, both at the same time. An astonishing conceptualization from a myth to achieve a modern history of how overrated it becomes beauty and everything that the caracters are willing to do, in order to achieve it.
Adam E (ag) wrote: Pretty standard fantasy movie with ok acting and some pretty poor special effects. Its fun enough but its just not anything special and it drags quite heavly. Also theres no real pay off at the end it just kind of fitters away. The people you expect to survive do and even the twist near the end is nothing fancy.

My biggest complaint is the fact that it was dubbed and i really really hate dubbing foreign films these days, I would much rather read subtitles then a fake emotional english vo. Other then that though, not a bad film- good shooting, cinematography, and forward moving story and plot. Kinda a crazy over the top ending, but hey= why not.

Kita akan menelusuri beragam halusinasi, memori, ekspektasi dan realita kesengsaraan tokoh utama kita. Mungkin inilah yang membuat kadang kita akan tertawa dengan 'kedangkalan' Joe Buck.

Kenneth L (au) wrote: This is a very charming, funny, cozy little Irish film. It tells a good story with a fun and likable group of characters, in a lovely setting. I would watch a whole TV series just following the daily lives of the characters in this movie. The story, set in a tiny Irish village with a population of just over 50 people, begins with one of the citizens, Ned Devine, winning the national lottery. Unfortunately, however, poor old Ned dies immediately from the shock of winning. This leaves two old friends Jackie (Ian Bannen) and Michael (David Kelly) to figure out what to do with the winning ticket. From there we get a story that alternates between being farcical and touching. This is a character actor's movie all the way. Bannen, who kind of reminds me of an Irish Jack Lemmon, is quite good as Jackie, the leader of the attempt to claim the money. The real standout, though, is David Kelly as Michael, the mild-mannered old man who is shocked to find himself in the situations he does in the film. It's a wonderful example of acting that's funny by not trying too hard to be funny. Fionnula Flanagan does a great job being a stern Irish housewife. Susan Lynch and James Nesbitt are also both quite likable in a romantic subplot. The movie radiates a high concentration of Irishness in its every frame. The town is picturesque and quaint, and of course the characters spend a good bit of time at church and the pub. The movie was shot on the Isle of Man, and works in plenty of bits of gorgeous scenery without forcing it. Shaun Davey's bagpipe-heavy score is almost too good in terms of how it cues certain emotions. Kirk Jones's screenplay and direction tell this story in a quick 90 minutes, and yet we feel like we get to know the town. It would be very difficult to dislike this movie, I think.
