Ryan D (au) wrote: Every so often, I come across one of "those gay movies" that makes me kind of stop and think about just how horrible life is. "Frisk" is definitely one of these movies, and may be one of the most horrible and interesting movies I've ever seen. The film, based on the book of the same name, is somewhat hard to follow at first; it splits between flashbacks and present day, revolving around letters the protagonist is sending his friend and his friend's younger brother. Oh, and his letters are all about how he's killing people. Yeah. And not just any killing, but like GUTTING people. It's sick. The movie is very visually stunning; sort of like driving by a car accident, you have to look to see what happened. None of the visuals will give you therapy, but don't watch it before bed, either. Also, blink and you'll miss 'Party Girl' Parker Posey who comes in late in the film as a funloving psychopath who loves murder, too. She looks hot with a gun. Definitely worth the Netflix.

Jim H (it) wrote: This movie asks the viewers to take a tremendous amount of leaps of faith along with it. Steve Carell as a dramatic lead. The thought but Juliette Binoche would actually be interested in him. That Dane Cook can actually act. And yet, with the exception of that last one, just about all of them work. A very slow moving yet entertaining flick.
