Stuart H (au) wrote: "We've come back to the past to save the future, gentlemen; to put an end to the tyranny of Hitler's Third Reich".To be precise, that's 50,000 years in the past. Not to be confused with the other forthcoming sci-fi Nazi invasion movie, 'Iron Sky', 'The 25th Reich' is a crazy adventure about a small band of WW2 GIs that set off in the Australian outback to capture a couple of escaped pumas and end up time-travelling to stop the German army taking over the world. This is the second film that I've seen recently that can't really be written about without giving away all the surprises. Now, in my book, that's a sign of a good movie although it does mean that unfortunately there's hardly anything else that can be said other than it's an audaciously fun film with some eyebrow raising scenes. Admittedly the special effects aren't the greatest you'll ever see and none of the actors are likely to be putting an Oscar on their mantelpieces any time soon - yep, this is definitely B-movie territory - but a film this mental just wouldn't work any other way. Possibly the most ambitious low-budget movie ever made, this one has to be seen to be believed.

Tonya N (jp) wrote: I hated the fact that even though they used one girl in all the other movies, that they decided not to use the same girl in this one. I heard rumor that the other girl was in the middle of another project. If that be the case, they should have justed waited until she finished that project. This was just so stupid that they didn't use the same girl that they used in all the other movies!! Totally Epic Fail! I loved the other ones, and hated this one.

Lots of language and a scene of brief nudity. Seeing Kevin Spacey so young in his career makes it worth watching by itself. Rating: 7/10

Nelson plays a lawyer fresh out of law school. He aggressively makes a name for himself with a high profile case. He is then hired by Hurt, a man accused of murder.
Senor C (de) wrote: Mostly made in 74 but not released until 80 (to cash in on the growing wrestling craze)Below the Belt benefits from having a couple of noticeable cast members in Dolph (Gimme A Break) Sweet & Shirley (The Honeymoon Killers) Stoler. In fact Dolph Sweet has such an excellent scene were he's drunk before a match & razors himself it rivals the power of The Wrestler. Unfortunately Below the Belt is a little short of scenes like this & is padded w/ music montages & footage of pro wrestling w/ the likes of Bruno Sammartino (which I like but doesn't match very well w/ the midget & womens wrestling that is served up for the remainder).
Lorinda B (de) wrote: Wow! This movie is a classic and it's certified as one of my favorites! It's a beautiful story about dreams, ambition and figuring out "having it all" or what you think "all" is ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Abraham S (it) wrote: Surprisingly graphic, tense, and eerie, I feel The Ruins has found a number of successes. Though far from a great horror film, the Ruins never pretends to be something it's not - and what it is is a story of four friends who meet a german backpacker whilst on vacation in Cancun and decide to join him in an ultimately doomed mission to an off-the-map Mayan pyramid. The rest of the film, about an hour, takes place on this pyramid where they are unable to leave and are viciously torn apart and psychologically broken down by the 'living' plants that call the pyramid home. I liked it - a lot. I think any lover of the young, gorey, american tourist cliched horror sub-genre would love it. I'd watch it again for sure and share it with a few friends.
Grant S (kr) wrote: A classic Howard Hawks/John Wayne western. Good plot, good action, solid performances. Better plot than most westerns. Some little things don't always make sense or gel, but there are no glaring plot holes. Don't just a shoot-em-up western, there is character development too, especially in the case of Dean Martin's character, and even some romance, though this is dealt with a touch superficially.Good action scenes, as you would expect from Howard Hawks and John Wayne.John Wayne is his usual cool, swaggering, albeit one-dimensional self. Probably the best performance comes from Dean Martin, as his character has the most depth, and demons. As if one singer in the cast wasn't enough, we have Ricky Nelson too. Wasn't expecting much from him, but he is fine in his role as the Colorado kid.Having Martin and Nelson in the movie means the producers are obliged to have a musical interlude. It is fairly gratuitous, but I didn't mind it. Good music, well played and sung.Angie Dickinson provides the love interest, and does so very well.Only blemishes are two of the supporting cast: Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez as Carlos and Walter Brennan as Stumpy. You'd swear Gonzalez-Gonzalez's performance inspired the character of Manuel in Fawlty Towers. So clumsy and stereotypical it is irritating. At least Manuel was funny.Walter Brennan's Stumpy talks far too much and complains far too much, about nothing. Very irritating. Hawks should have dialed him down a bit. A classic western.
