Moss F (mx) wrote: Available on DVD in the US for the first time. DVD has some great documentaries about how the film was made. One key to getting the terrific skiing footage was to have Jalbert ski while holding a camera to get closeup shots of Redford as well as those "you are there" straight ahead pans while going downhill at 70mph. Roger Ebert said: " it is the best movie ever made about sports, without really being about sports at all." Read his review for more about this, referring to the film's portrayal of the main characters.

Irvin C (ru) wrote: This film is a sort of re-imagining of the Gunfight at the OK Corral incident. Although it's not historically accurate, the film gives the story more complex emotional heft. It features stunning black and white cinematography, probably one of the best in a black and white Western. Correct me somebody if I'm wrong but this must have influenced Sergio Leone and spaghetti Westerns quite a bit since it almost feels like one. It is not my most favorite John Ford film but it's in the upper-tier for sure.
Christopher W (gb) wrote: I am a major supporter of indie films, and this one is one to see. I love the innovative ideas new directors are coming up with today to make new films, and this movie was shot and portrayed in a way I have never seen. A great physiological thriller, more so than a drama, that portrays the potential horrific realities of modern technology. Ratter does not attempt to teach you a lesson, or lecture you, merely share some true reality of horror and technology.
