Elaine M (ag) wrote: A movie star named Gray Evans becomes troubled by the downfall of his marriage, difficulties with the press, and the haunting obsession he develops with a young girl named Shana. When Adam Goldberg directs a movie starring the greatest actor and the greatest actress of all time (Giovanni Ribisi and Christina Ricci), plus the great additions of Joshua Jackson and Judy Greer, an awesome result is inevitable. With a dead original story, some weird but spectacular lighting and visual effects, and a solid soundtrack, 'I Love Your Work' is a real example of some of the strongest talent in the movie industry collaberating for the right reasons. Outstanding psychological drama, that obviously hasn't gotten the credit it deserves...

Brandon W (au) wrote: Night of the Creeps is a great low budget horror-comedy film. It has great effects, and good acting. It does gives some great references to other horror films that horror fans would be looking for in this film. The kills are good, and the characters are good too. It's got some laughs and it has a good scare once in a while. I can see where Slither got its influence from. The only problem I have with it is that it feels like a standard horror-comedy film. If you don't have anything to do and don't know what to watch, I say go check this out, it's entertaining.

Dickie L (nl) wrote: Was there ever a more commanding screen presence than Marlene Dietrich? Watching her transform from naive country girl Sofia to the charismatic Catherine the Great of Russia in the Scarlet Empress is to witness screen royalty in more ways than one. The film itself is deliciously (and intentionally) camp and fun, especially the scenes between Dietrich and John Lodge, who is hilarious as the local lothario, Count Alexei. Add Louise Dresser as the fabulously imprerious Empress Elizabeth, a plot of diabolical debauchery and deceipt and some of the most stunning gowns in cinema history and you have a classic that holds up surprisingly well more than 75 years after it was made.

Jaime L (ag) wrote: Boring. Ridiculous. Melodramatic. Jumps from scene to scene with no real explanation why. The acting? All over the place. I'd suggest watching an actual noir film than this pretender. At least then you'd get a coherent story and good acting.
Danny V (us) wrote: It is quite a shame this movie didn't live upto the hype that was built upon by several good people I know. I consider this the 4th best movie in 1981, behind Arthur, My Dinner with Andre and in first, Reds. Quite a shame, because this movie had all the elements it needed to win more Oscars, even though I felt Reds did deserve Best Picture. Wrong year to make this movie shine, good movie nonetheless.
