Gerard D (us) wrote: Giant Crocodile eats tourists. Michael Madsen will not tolerate this and hunts the beast down like a modern day captain Ahab. This sounds better than it is. The movie is stupid but watcheable. And you need to see this or you won't be able to understand the much anticipated 'Croc 2'!

Avery F (kr) wrote: Story: great. Quality: shoddy. Hyped: over. Acting: Terrible. I find it depressing that so many great projects never see the light of day, and a piece of shit like this mops up awards, ratings, and further allows shitty films to revive attention. Poor dialogue. Unrealistic characters. Highschool level acting. Lack of continuity completely. Sad product placement. Lack of chemistry between characters. And absolute lack of that thing in films that keeps you watching: quality. At least there's no stupid explains.

Michael R (it) wrote: In "51 Birch Street" Doug Block delves into the secrets of his parents' marriage. At first his family does not seem particularly dysfunctional (at least no more dysfunctional than any child might judge his parents) relationship. As Block probes deeper, however, he discovers that his parents were probably a great deal less happy than he had at first suspected. In a typically Oedipal manner his initial impulse is to blame everything on his father but further inspection leads him (with the aid of a psychiatrist, rabbi, and others) to recognize that perhaps the unhappiness hidden by his parents is fairly ubiquitous. The director never exhibits his family as a freak show for us to gawk at. Instead he candidly demonstrates how his revelations make him insecure about himself, his marriage, and his life. This is a well done self-exploration that only rarely becomes overly self-absorbed.

Now, if I had seen this as a child, I would have probably though it was the best Goddamned film ever made, but to approach it as an adult I was only able to appreciate it on the stereotypical ironic level.Rental?

Eric the e (ca) wrote: Not as good as the TV series but has some funny moments, having that waiter guy from fawlty towers was a awful casting, also the film had a low budget feel i was surprised the set Did not fall down. The normal cast from the TV series make this film worth watching

Justin W (gb) wrote: it's got a neat, original story involving pins...if chris rock had seen this film, he'd probably be talking about how the black pins cause death and the white pins don't. but anyway, it's actually a pretty decent film and worth a watch if you happen to come across it.

Kevin S (de) wrote: This is a great biography movie about the life of one of the greatest country singers of all time. It follows the life of the legendary Loretta Lynn. Her life in poverty with her loving family including her dad who was a coal miner. She fell in love at the age of thirteen and even started having kids at that age. He her husband Oliver Lynn who was in WWII who is kinda wild and wound up but fell in love with Loretta at a very young age loved the war she sang so he started to help her her out in her singing career and that's how she became the famous great country singer that she is today. What a great choice for sissy spacek to play Loretta who has had a great career herself. Her performance as Loretta was in my mind Oscar worthy and did a heck of a job at the singing. She sounded close to Loretta when she sang. She was marvelous in this movie. And Tommy lee jones played as her husband Oliver Lynn. A very young tommy lee jones and a great performance from him too. This would be a great movie to check out if you are a fan of Loretta Lynn and her music.
