Nick P (gb) wrote: Bruce Mcdonald is one of the most daring filmmakers of our time. This film is another example...but once again like "Tracy Fragments" it just might be too much. The film does an excellent job touching on the fact that our lives play out like soundtracks...and really shows the impact that music can have in the storytelling of our love for eachother. This movie was depressing as hell...but there was a moment in the ending that was just so absolutely TERRIBLE and inappropriate for the feel of the film. It just felt....wrong and out of place that I couldn't give this film any more than 3 stars....and now...I'm gonna put a gun to my head and pull the trigger. Goodbye love. Goodbye world.

Lita T (nl) wrote: The Movie Info listed for this is incorrect. The story is about a man who never knew his mysterious and enigmatic mother (Zubeidaa) who was once a budding actress stopped short by an arranged marriage by her father. Before her husband divorced her, Zubeidaa produced one son (the one who's looking for her in the present tense). Not long after her divorce, against her father's wishes she starts dating a maharaja. When the maharaja wants to make her his junior queen, Zubeidaa's mother demands that she give up her only son to be raised by the grandmother. Zubeidaa stupidly agrees to do this and ends up as a concubine in a complicated and eventually unfulfilling marriage. I only wanted to watch this because it was recommended on Baz Luhrman's Red Curtain Trilogy. Ugh. This just dragged on and on. Zubeidaa was a spoiled brat and she should have played that up more. Not a good Bollywood Musical by any standards.

Sandy Dennis presents her role with an understated, passive grace that benefits her strongly in the role, and the hidden enthusiasm of the other students is a mark to society that children really do care about their education.A wonderful film with many gems of wisdom that will make you think. I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.

Rasheed T (gb) wrote: 45 minutes into the movie and there isn't no Joker! Already terrible idea! The plot begins with Barbara Gordon, a.k.a. Batgirl trying to seek acceptance for Batman but fails to impress. The first 45 minutes have absolutely nothing to do with the Joker or the later plot. This honestly felt like a forced sex relationship that producers had to include because they had a strange fantasy about it. Batman has sex with Batgirl?! Knowing Batman, I know damn well that he isn't going to just sleep with one of his students. Batman's character was ruined!
